We are a popular three-form entry primary school, with an attached nursery, located close to Hackbridge Station. We have been at the heart of our community for over 100 years. We aim to work in partnership to enable each child to reach the highest possible standards of learning, whilst encouraging everyone to develop an enthusiasm for life, together with a sense of pride in themselves, our school, and our community. The school consists of three main buildings and we are also very fortunate to have specialist provision for ICT, Music, Design & Technology/Art and a well-equipped library. In addition to these, we also have a specialist Sports Hall which was funded by the National Lottery. Our Family Room provides a venue for a range of family activities. Our wonderful pond area provides an ideal space for science and quiet activities. At Hackbridge Primary School our Ethos, Visions, and Values are focused on FOUR core values: Kindness Each of us is special and unique. We should be open and honest with each other. We expect our children to have respect for the people and environment around them so that they become caring and sensitive members of the community showing respect and tolerance towards all others. Determination We aim to help our pupils to develop self-confidence and self-esteem. We want them all to have pride in their achievements and take responsibility for their learning so they can be the best they can be. We provide our children with a broad, balanced, and challenging curriculum that meets the emotional and social needs of everyone. Inspiration We encourage our children to believe in themselves and that they are capable of achieving amazing things. Our children are the future and we strive to create and sustain a happy environment in which they can all experience love and passion for learning where it is both interesting and fun. Nurture We provide a safe and secure environment for our children and develop meaningful links with families and the local community. We believe every child should be given equal opportunities regardless of learning needs, disability, religion, gender, culture, or social background. We encourage our children to make the right choices, think for themselves, try-hard, and never give up. At Hackbridge Primary School we are committed to working with our families and the wider local community to ensure that multi-cultural, multi-faith, and the ever-changing nature of the United Kingdom is understood and valued. We will teach all children about ‘fundamental British values in an age-appropriate way through a broad and balanced curriculum and also through the examples set by all members of staff. The definition of fundamental British Values set out in Ofsted’s school inspection handbook defines these as democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs. The teaching of such values will include learning right from wrong, learning to take turns and share, challenging any negative attitudes and stereotypes and about democracy, and understanding their rights as an individual in lessons and wider school life.
