The Research, Extension and Development functions of the College were institutionalized in 2002 when a research and extension staff was assigned to handle these functions. Sometime in 2004, the office for Planning, Research and Extension with Vice President as the head of office was created. The first Vice President for Planning, Research, and Extension was Dr. Domingo G. Umani and his staff were Instr. Lilian Diana Parreno, Instr. Rafael Riolito O. Estorque and Instr. Nenita G. Morada. One of the maiden research studies handled by the office was the employment status of the BS graduates of Guimaras State College. For the Extension services, they pioneered the tutorial classes for the day care pupils in San Isidro and wood turning skills in Nazaret. Today, these two main functions of GSC thrived to excel and deliver services which could help improve the quality of life of the people in Guimaras in particular and of the country in general. The Guimaras State College Research and Extension Services is the conduit of knowledge and information, skills and technology generated by the college that would effect change geared towards improving the quality of life of disadvantaged and less privileged groups. Hence partnership with the departments and other key partner stakeholders and development initiatives will reach the lives of the people and other partners in the community. Goal oriented and God fearing servant leaders promoting green technology for sustainable development. Service effective and service efficient professionals with global standards and practicesCommitted for excellence and desire for harmony among stakeholders.Guimaras state college is committed to provide its clients with quality and excellent education through green technology generation for sustainable development and global competitiveness.
