- We are a Wandsworth maintained school for children and young people aged 11-19 with Moderate Learning Difficulties, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, and Speech, Language, and Communication difficulties. We cater to 183 students. We place our students at the center of everything we do. Our provision suits a wide variety of needs and personalities. We offer a wide range of accreditations including GCSE, Functional Skills, Entry Level Certificates, BTEC, Duke of Edinburgh Award, and ASDAN. As a result, our students achieve outstanding outcomes. As a Maths and Computing Specialist School, we have invested heavily in technology. Our inclusive approach and our focus on rights and responsibilities have earned us the UNICEF Rights Respecting Schools Award. Our Sixth Form provides opportunities for students to experience local college placements, vocational and practical courses, providing further curriculum and life-long learning support. Garratt Park students benefit from being educated by a dedicated team of professionals. Staff and students work together in pleasant surroundings with excellent facilities. Garratt Park School aims to enable young people to achieve their fullest potential through a broad and balanced curriculum. All members of the school have the right to experience success within a caring community that recognizes their efforts and celebrates their achievements. The School values, as agreed and developed by the whole staff team, are CHIRP: Compassion Honesty Inspiration Respect Professionalism All students at Garratt Park School have a statement of Special Educational Need (SEN) or an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) in which their major need has been identified as a moderate learning difficulty (MLD). A school placement that meets their needs will have been recommended to parents/carers by educational professionals or will be the parents’ first choice. Most parents will have attended a termly Open Morning (dates available from Garratt Park School or current SENCO) or will have requested a show round (please contact the school to make an appointment). A request to the Local Authority for a place at Garratt Park School can be made following the annual review procedure in Year 5 or from the student’s secondary school if it is not the expected time for transition. The local authority will write to you in September of Year 6, seek your preference(s) and consult with schools on your behalf. You do not need to complete the request form for a secondary place.
