Gallions Primary School opened in 1999. We are a community school for boys and girls aged 3 to 11 years. Gallions was originally established to teach the curriculum creatively, ensuring children have a range of exciting learning opportunities to allow them to reach their full potential not only academically but also in terms of their social and emotional well-being. Gallions is a large primary school in the heart of East London. We take pride in celebrating the rich diversity of our families and value learning from each other. We are a happy school, with passionate staff who see children as individuals and work enthusiastically to ensure all children thrive. At Gallions, we believe in the right to be successful. There are times when your child might need some additional support for all or part of their time at school, this is the support that is available for your child at Gallions. The vision of Gallions Primary School is to be a high-achieving school where children learn effectively. Through an innovative, inquiry-based curriculum and our creative approach to learning, we will enable children to achieve their high ambitions and aspirations. We believe that the creative arts are essential to developing us as thinking, caring, creative individuals and we organize our curriculum to reflect this. To realize this vision, we aim to teach our curriculum wherever possible through music, dance, drama, and art for children to make connections in their learning, develop their confidence, and improve attitudes to learning. Through this approach, all children at Gallions Primary School will achieve their full potential in academic subjects and in all that they do. Gallions Primary School ensures every individual achieves their best through high expectations for all. Through our teaching of PSHE/Citizenship and our weekly Philosophy for Children program, we develop an understanding of human and children's rights and responsibilities. This is an integral aspect of life at Gallions Primary School. We expect our learners to be respectful, confident, and positive individuals. We encourage every child to care about and have respect for, their learning, each other, and our environment. Through our weekly Philosophy for Children (P4C) program, we encourage our children to be socially and emotionally intelligent, understand themselves and each other and we encourage our children to make the right choices.
