The esGallaecia / Gallaecia School is a university recognized by the requirement, quality, and rigorous training of its graduates and the research undertaken. It is one of the only universities integrated into non - urban settings. The main objective of esGallaecia is to contribute to the quality of university education in the region through the development of undergraduate and postgraduate training. Other objectives focus on supporting populations, promoting scientific research, national and international cooperation, and organizing cultural events. The esGallaecia stands out for its cross-border nature, either due to its location or the fact that part of the academic community (students and teachers) to be Spanish. This cultural diversity has been enhanced through exposure and development of the work in the original language of each (Portuguese, Spanish and Galician). Another distinctive feature is the close relationship between technical and artistic creative abilities in all taught courses of study. But, perhaps, its main distinguishing feature is its focus on personalized teaching and outreach. Thus the esGallaecia provides full integration of its students in the European Higher Education Area adapted to Bologna, providing them with social and academic support in obtaining grants from various entities Study. The esGallaecia, attentive to reality, offers post-working hours, suitable for students working students, condensed to the 6th and Saturday. The School Gallaecia, hereinafter esGALLAECIA, is as a whole, a breeding center of the arts, research, and dissemination of science, culture, and technology, carried out in the fields of study, teaching, and research, fostering the exchange between the various branches of knowledge in the service of Lusophone cultural identity and development of the national and international community. The esGallaecia / School Gallaecia Superior is committed to ensuring the quality of teaching, research, and knowledge transfer rooted in its values and as the foundation for the pursuit of its mission. Within the institutional strategy esGallaecia, quality presents itself as a transverse axis to the entire school activity and aims to be intrinsic to the very culture of esGallaecia and all its agents, respecting the degree of involvement and responsibility of each. It is intended, therefore, that all stakeholders are actively involved in the quality process and not just the Quality Office. This culture of quality is based on continuous improvement, responsibility, autorresponsabilizacao, and the prevalence of the general interest. In 1995, the School Gallaecia is established by the Convent of Oratory Foundation, which restructures and formalizes. In 1999, the FCO shall approve the Protection of the institution's operating permit, its facilities, and respective courses. In 2003, the Order of Architects recognizes the degree course (6 years) in Architecture and Urbanism of the ESG. ESG and the FCO initiated the organization of the ATP - Earth Architecture Seminar in Portugal. 2016 is the year marked by the successful students of ESG, which are awarded three prizes in different competitions. 2016 is also approved in the Creative Europe Program, the European project "3dPast - Living & virtual visiting European World Heritage" (2016-2020), coordinated by ESG. 3dPast articulates the dimensions Heritage, Architecture, Art, and Multimedia in European sites classified as World Heritage. In 2017, the ESG is awarded twice: in January, the European Commission as case European reference due to the impact of VERSUS project by itself coordinated the "contribution to the formulation of policies, its innovative results, its creative approach and that it can represent a source of inspiration for other projects " in June, the European Prize of Architectural Heritage Intervention in 2017 (AADIPA) in the category Disclosure Architectural Heritage. In 2017, ESG begins research missions to the sites of European World Heritage under the 3dPast Project publishes its 20th book in 2005 and continues to train future professionals with excellence with the quality and rigor that are recognized.
