      1. At present, over 1,000 international students from more than 100 countries worldwide are studying together with 7,000 German students at Fulda University of Applied Sciences, in the heart of Germany and the Centre of Europe. We offer a wide range of different programs, including short-term and summer programs, semester and academic year exchange programs, full-time degree programs, international Master's programs and preparatory programs, and career service for international students. The International Office also coordinates social activities and accommodation. You can count on our support to make your time at the University as pleasant and successful as possible. Everyone in the International Office enjoys working to achieve those goals. At Fulda University, we value diversity and the many contributions that international students make to campus life. The International Office is responsible for initiating and implementing international cooperation programs. The University has cooperation agreements with numerous other universities worldwide. The International Office provides a comprehensive service for international students – from information on admission requirements to help find accommodation, advice on all aspects of the student's study program, and assistance in preparing the return home. The International Office also organizes Orientation Weeks before the semester begins as well as cultural events and excursions. There are at present around 1,000 international students studying at Fulda University. These students come from over 100 different countries and add a multicultural dimension to nearly all our degree programs. Business and management programs, computer science and engineering, and our international Master's programs are incredibly popular among international students. Regardless of your home country or field of interest, you can be sure of a warm welcome in our international community! The Language Workshop is open to all students at Fulda University who would like to prepare written papers and presentations. Specially trained student tutors give you feedback on your written work in one-to-one discussions and help you structure and formulate it correctly. Particularly if you still lack confidence in German, the Language Workshop is the place for you. In the Self-Study and Family Centre, you will find rooms where you can study and relax. Whether you want to study alone or in a group, the Centre's infrastructure is perfect. It has several meeting rooms, a quiet room, and even a family room. From Monday to Friday 13.00 – 18.00 you can also seek advice from tutors on every aspect of your studies. Just drop in and see! The Centre is located in Building 44. Especially for young mothers and fathers, the family room is a perfect refuge. The room is wonderfully furnished with a play corner, a baby changing table, a comfortable sofa where you can feed your baby, and a lot more besides. The quiet room at the Self-Study Centre is another real gem. There are loungers and hanging chairs where you can power-nap to help you relax and recharge your batteries. Give it a try – it is worth it! Fulda University has set itself the priority objective of promoting student and lecturer exchanges and international research cooperation. Thus, Fulda University prepares its students for growing European integration and labor market globalization and helps them develop their intercultural skills. By providing an appropriate range of study programs, Fulda University makes itself more attractive to international students. It fosters their academic success and their participation in social life. Internationalization, intercultural integration, and interculturality are vital strategic areas at Fulda University. Economic, social, and demographic developments have increased the importance of attracting international students. The University is thus facing the challenge of responding to the student body's increasingly multicultural composition and shaping interculturality. Student multiculturalism opens up new perspectives – for example, about the international and intercultural exchange. Fulda University takes a complimentary view of the opportunity to embrace this potential and turn it into a productive advantage. "Computers everywhere" is a perfect way to describe the status of computer science today. Computer-based solutions are found in almost every area of daily life. Computer science is often the driving force from the further development of everyday items to new industrial sectors. There will be opportunities to engage in fascinating research in this field for decades to come. The Department's professors and associates provide – also thanks to our excellent spatial and technical facilities – general, practically oriented Bachelor's and Master's degree programs in Applied Computer Science as well as opportunities for advanced studies in digital media, embedded systems, e-health, internet engineering, media informatics, software development, and business IT. For more than 30 years, the Department of Applied Computer Science has been continually updating its study programs and engaging in innovative research projects to ensure that its graduates enjoy outstanding success in many different business sectors and society in general. If you have any questions or suggestions, make the most of the Department's informal atmosphere and contact my colleagues directly. I will also be happy to hear from you.
