  1. Learn the who, what, when, and were of the nation's first and best-coed college preparatory school for students with learning differences. We are 236 bright and motivated students with learning differences and 68 faculty and staff trained to equip them for college. Our namesake is our founder, John Forman, one of the first educators to apply research-based methodologies to teaching students who learn differently. Our Head of School is Adam Man, an experienced educator and a parent of a Forman School alumnus. Forman opened in 1930. Samuel Orton, who pioneered the study of dyslexia, was on the board. So was physicist Albert Einstein. He may have struggled with reading and was dyslexic, but that did not impede his genius's expression. John Forman engaged these leading minds because he was passionate about providing a transformative education to students who learn differently. We still live his mission, applying expert insights to everything we do. We are located on a classic New England prep school campus in Litchfield, Connecticut, that attracts local day students and boarding students from more than 25 states and ten countries. Our facilities for academics, athletics, the arts, and social life are state-of-the-art. Boston and New York City are around 2.5 hours away by car. Please read all about boarding life or take a tour of our campus map. Forman is a place where every student is known well, where the connection amongst students and faculty feels like family, where big dreams and aspirations are fulfilled, and where we care deeply about every student's success and excellence. Forman holds to the rich traditions of a college preparatory boarding school while also providing an innovative and dynamic academic program designed to bring out the best in each student. We aim to ignite the curiosity of learning in each student, help them improve in areas of weakness, and shine in strength and interest areas.

  3. Welcome to Forman Christian College (A Chartered University). You are about to discover a great community characterized by its learning environment, diversity, excellence in service, and commitment to its values of discipline, justice, and respect. Our students come to FCC for various reasons, chief among them is the quality of education we provide. The University is ranked as a W-category institution by the HEC. Our values of commitment to excellence and service to the community have remained strong throughout our 152- year history, just as our academic plans have expanded to include 22 majors at the Baccalaureate level and 15 Postgraduate programs that meet international standards. Our continued recognition as a center for excellence speaks for the students that study at FCC, the quality of our graduates and our faculty, and the research we conduct. We emphasize building an inclusive community that produces an environment that is safe and friendly and makes education a joy for everyone. Our campus boasts beautiful buildings and grounds, but apart from that, you will find a wide range of activities at FCC. No matter which region you come from, we promise you a variety of eye-opening experiences. The mission of Forman Christian College (A Chartered University) is to impart, create and disseminate knowledge and to develop informed, ethical, and responsible citizens who are prepared and committed to learn, lead and serve persons who exemplify the FCCU motto, “By love serve one another.” The vision of FCCU is to be recognized as one of the very best educational institutions in the entire subcontinent. This is in keeping with the distinguished reputation established during the first century in its life. Enriched with the enduring qualities of a liberal arts education, FCCU seeks to graduate students who are well-prepared for success in their careers. However, it is impossible to predict what a person will need to know for success on the job twenty years from now, but we know that new knowledge will have to be mastered that does not even exist today in most jobs. Therefore, it is more important to learn how to learn, think, solve problems, and communicate effectively rather than just focus narrowly on the content of an academic discipline. The educational program is designed to help students develop these skills. In the early years, degrees were awarded through Calcutta University. College-level instruction was interrupted in 1869 due to the illness of key faculty members. College classes resumed in 1886, with degrees being awarded through the University of Punjab. In 2004, FCCU became a chartered University and from 2009 onwards has awarded its degrees. FCCU has been a leader in the development of curriculum among the universities of Pakistan. Through the years, the college was introduced into the curriculum such as the Sciences, Economics, Psychology, Geography, Technical Chemistry, and Sociology. FCCU also has a distinguished record of performing service for the nation. At the time of Independence, the college converted two hostels into a hospital for refugees seeking medical assistance and thus began United Christian Hospital. In 1972 the college was nationalized by the government. It was returned to the present owners of the college on 19 March 2003. In March 2004, the government granted University status to FCCU. The University embarked upon an exciting new stage in its history in September 2005 when it began a four-year Baccalaureate (Honors) program designed under world-class standards for accreditation. FCCU is an HEC-recognized, W-category University. It currently has 6,347 students, 220 full-time faculty members with over 100 PhDs, and over 21,700 registered alumni. The University offers Baccalaureate and Postgraduate programs. The 4-year Baccalaureate Honors program, started in 2005, offers an American style, world-class liberal arts education at affordable tuitions. New postgraduate programs started with the MBA in 2007 and now include PhDs, MPhils, Masters, and Executive education programs in specific disciplines. FCCU’s generous financial aid program and scholarships for deserving students make high-quality education accessible to students from various socioeconomic backgrounds.
