Founded in 1942 by the Felician Sisters, Felician University is one of the few Franciscan universities in the country and the only one in New Jersey. We have built our reputation with an emphasis on service and respect for humanity, as was the dream of Blessed Mary Angela Truszkowska - the foundress of the Felician Sisters more than a century ago. An institutional strategic plan articulates broad institutional strategic priorities grounded within the mission's boundaries, while academic, administrative, and non-academic department's�™ operational plans articulate unit-specific goals and strategies related to these priorities. In each academic, administrative, and non-academic unit, the articulation of measurable outcomes helps the University assess progress and improve the strategic plan. The University-Wide Template Model (CWTM) is designed to guide and provide a structure for evaluating the results' effectiveness and use. The academic, administrative, and non-academic units annually review their objectives, assessment process, and outcomes, and make needed modifications and changes for the next academic year. The Office of Institutional Research is focused on providing consistent and measurable statistical data analysis to the Federal government, State government, internal and external stakeholders. We persistently aim to uphold Felician's accreditation standing by providing an abundant amount of data analysis reports to sources. The IR office mainly aims to improve student's satisfaction and retention rates through measurable data analysis reports. As a student-focused institution, we continue to advocate and provide the necessary statistical data tools for students to be able to share their thoughts, experience, and suggestions. Felician University, a co-educational liberal arts University, is a Catholic, Franciscan, private, independent institution for students representing diverse religious, racial, and ethnic backgrounds. The University operates on two campuses in Lodi and Rutherford, New Jersey. The University is one of the higher learning institutions conducted by the Felician Sisters in the United States. Founded by the Felician Sisters of Lodi, New Jersey, it began as Immaculate Conception Normal School with the first summer session commencing on July 5, 1923. For more than a decade, the Normal School trained in-service teachers and qualified them for state certification. On May 27, 1935, the Normal School was raised to a teacher training college approved by and affiliated with the Catholic University of America. The students who belonged to a religious order completed a maximum of seventy-two semester hours of their undergraduate work at the College and then transferred to the Catholic University of America, Seton Hall, or Fordham Universities. The Academic Success Center works to connect undergraduate students with the resources needed to achieve academic success. We want every student to make steady academic progress and graduate on time. Receive free tutoring from professional tutors and peer tutors in our Tutoring Studios, including our Math/Science Lab and our Writing Lab. You can sign up for individual tutoring sessions or group sessions to help you pass an exam, finish a research paper, or just become a better student. Online tutoring is available for undergraduate students at off-site locations and undergraduate students in fully online programs. Our faculty care about our students and want to provide every chance for them to succeed. If an instructor is concerned about specific issues that might impede a student's success, a referral is made to the Early Alert Intervention Program. Students exhibiting poor academic performance, class participation, and attendance issues can work with a faculty and staff team to identify and develop new strategies for success. Our students find the "wake-up call" very helpful to keep them on course.
