We believe passionately in ensuring that all pupils who attend Randal Cremer leave the school able to excel academically and socially through the provision of high-quality education and a commitment to inspiring all members of our school community to take shared responsibility for themselves and other people. Many of our children join Randal Cremer in the Nursery, aged three. A place in the Nursery does not guarantee a place in the main school but children meeting the Local authority’s entry requirements will move on to the reception where they will be joined by children new to the school. Randal Cremer Primary School is governed by Hackney’s admission procedures. Full details of the admissions criteria and a copy of the admission form for Reception are available on the Hackney Learning Trust. We have a dedicated team of teachers and support staff and provide a wealth of learning opportunities for all our pupils. We believe that all our pupils should receive a high-quality education that ensures they enter Secondary School able to access learning through performing at age expected levels in reading, writing, and mathematics. We also believe that music, arts, science, computing, and sports are also vital if pupils are to be engaged in learning and motivated to achieve the very best they can. We recognize it takes a ‘village’ to educate a child, we all work together to ensure consistency of outstanding processes & practices. Randal Cremer is fully committed to the inclusion of pupils with SEND providing that the school is compatible for the child’s age, ability and aptitude and that their attendance is not incompatible with the efficient education of other pupils in the school and is an efficient use of the Local Authority’s resources. At Randal Cremer, we run workshops for EYFS parents every other Wednesday. We invite different members of staff and specialists from outside the school to speak to parents on a broad range of topics. Previously we have had sessions on ‘Early Writing,’ ‘Supporting your child with Maths at home,’ and ‘Phonics support.’ We invited a nutritionist in to talk to parents about healthy eating and an Educational Psychologist to provide hints and tips for managing behavior at home. We have just run our first Dad’s workshop which was a great success. After the input from the workshop leader, we invite the children into the session to take part in some practical activities. This gives parents and carers the chance to experience our ethos of learning through play. It is very important that parents are aware of the dangers of the internet and ensures their children are safe at home. There is a huge range of devices in the home which connect to the internet, from smartphones and computers to televisions and games consoles. All teachers have regular appraisals which include targets for their practice, linking to school priorities. OFSTED will use the information you provide when making decisions about which schools to inspect, and when. Governors are proud to be part of Randal Cremer and the achievements of our children. We are fortunate to have skilled and committed staff and highly- supportive parents and volunteers. Pupil Premium is funding allocated to schools to boost the attainment of pupils from low-income families. It is intended to enable schools to provide targeted support to help children reach their full potential.
