St Mary's Coptic Orthodox College is an independent, co-educational Christian College catering for students from foundation to year 12. The College was founded in 1991 and has grown into a well-established community with over 800 students from Christian backgrounds. Many of our students are bused to the College using our dedicated door to door bus service. The College is committed to upholding the safe child standards Ministerial Order 870. As a Coptic Orthodox College, we recognize that we exist to foster and develop, within an Orthodox environment, an awareness of Christ and His teachings. We seek to do this by providing and maintaining the general spiritual, safe atmosphere where children are nurtured and developed in the Coptic Orthodox faith. We see maintaining the Coptic identity and teaching the Coptic Orthodox religion and Coptic language as essential for the College. We aim to create a festive atmosphere where children and young people can grow and learn, developing a high level of personal integrity and sincere respect for others with their varying cultural, academic, and socio-economic differences. St Mark's College is a K-12 co-educational college, operating within all federal (DEEWR) requirements and state (BOSTES) authorities. St. Mark's was initially established in 1996 at rented premises in Lidcombe and moved to our current Wattle Grove site in 1999. St Mark's College is proud of its Coptic Orthodox heritage, and this ethos exists in all areas throughout our school. Our faith is the cornerstone of our College community. The College is governed by the NSW Coptic Board of Education, responsible for our sister Colleges: St Mary & St Mina Coptic Orthodox College Bexley and St Bishoy Coptic Orthodox College Mt Druitt. Our school population consists of predominately of Coptic Orthodox students. However, St Mark's College is welcoming of students and their families from all backgrounds and cultures, currently boasting a current school population consisting of 21 different denominations. Increased interest from non-Coptic families who value the strong Christian ethos of the College currently attends from across 48 Sydney suburbs. St Bishoy Coptic Orthodox College is a K-12 college that is located in Mount Druitt, Western Sydney. There are 3 main buildings: The Primary Building, The High School Building, and the Multipurpose Hall. There are many facilities to cater to student needs and interests. There is also the Angelos Child Care on the school grounds. This is convenient for parents who have children of several ages. The College also has a Vacation Care Centre that runs during every school holiday. They remind us of the sacrifice and the strength of our Coptic Orthodox Faith. The emblem of St Bishoy was adopted because of its' many special contemplations. The rich Pharaonic culture is illustrated by the image of the 'Kartouche' and the hieroglyphics, not forgetting the contrast of the golden sands and the life-giving blue of the Nile. The beauty and tranquility of Australia are vividly depicted in the flower of the Waratah.
