Welcome to Coldfall Primary school. We are a three-form community primary school situated in Muswell Hill in North London. At Coldfall, every child is encouraged to discover and nurture his and her special gifts and talents through a stimulating curriculum that has global dimensions, going beyond the basic national curriculum requirements. Coldfall Primary School has the advantage of being set on beautiful grounds next to ancient woodland. We have modern, light and spacious buildings equipped with excellent play, games and sports facilities. Our facilities have expanded over the years in line with the growth in pupil numbers (from 200 pupils fifteen years ago to our present population of 680). Our modern facilities have helped us improve the standard of education and care we offer our children. Each year the school drafts a new SDP based on the evaluations of its ongoing work and national initiatives and requirements. This includes analyzing our pupil results and data to maximize learning and progress, planning how to develop the quality of teaching, and establishing the next steps for the spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development of pupils. Ensure a broad balanced and innovative curriculum offer that enhances pupils wider personal development and well-being. Action research projects support innovation and best practice across the curriculum. Pupils have a clear understanding of the importance of being a lifelong learner. Develop a broad and deep coverage and teaching of the National Curriculum for science. A range of memorable celebrations to commemorate Coldfall’s 90th Anniversary. We want our school to be: " A center of Excellence, having a Community ethos, be innovative, progressive, forward-thinking and Outward looking, be highly Inclusive, run smoothly and Effectively". The National Curriculum subjects are English, Maths, Science, History, Geography, Religious Education (RE), Art and Design, Music, Computing, Design and Technology, Physical Education, and for KS2 a modern foreign language. Our Curriculum Statement Aims: " To nurture and develop well-rounded, capable and caring individuals, To give children the skills, knowledge, and attitudes to lead a rich and fulfilling life." To achieve our aims, we need to ensure children: Have firm foundations of basic skills that they can use and apply. Have a broad range of exciting and creative opportunities to discover and nurture their talents. Understand the distinct nature of the different disciplines that enable one to become a specialist in a particular area, eg. an artist or a historian. Develop a set of core human values that underpin their spiritual, moral, social, and cultural (SMSC) development and their sense of uniqueness and self-worth as individuals. Have access and opportunity for all individuals to achieve their potential. Develop their thinking and questioning skills. At Coldfall, the British values of democracy, rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect, and tolerance of different faiths and beliefs are embedded within our Values Curriculum. These values are particularly linked to our school values of citizenship, freedom, equality, and fairness. Pupils learn about the values through assemblies, class PHSE/circle time, and P4C (Philosophy for Children) sessions. Our overriding aim is to teach children to be resilient to extremism. This involves pupils being taught how to ask probing questions and make sound judgments for themselves about what is right and wrong. Our Global Curriculum enables pupils to learn that there are many differing views and experiences in the world outside of their own. Our Values Education and PHSE learning also promote the development of self-confidence, self-worth, and a sense of identity. They allow pupils opportunities to reflect on and discuss different lifestyles and facets of identity, as well as being able to ask questions, challenge inappropriate and harmful ideologies, and stand up for what they believe is right. We have 33 values over 3 years – ie one value per month, excluding August, so the children will revisit the values twice in their time at Coldfall. View full school
