  1. The decision about establishing the Chuvash state university on the base of the Moscow Lenin's award power engineering institute was made on August 17, 1967. That day, the Soviet of Ministers of the USSR decided "About the Chuvash State University's foundation." There were seven faculties: historically-philological, medical, generally-technical, chemical, economical, electrical engineering, and industry electrification faculties. The foundation of the Chuvash state university in 1967 became possible thanks to the Chuvash people's achievements in socially-economical and cultural life. By that time, the existence of 3 higher schools in Chuvashiya (the pedagogical, agricultural institutes, the Volga branch of the MPEI), two scientifically-investigative institutes, and other scientifically-industrial and cultural establishments helped its opening. Opened already in 1930, the part of historically-philological faculty of the Chuvash pedagogical institute joined the university. By the time of the university creation, about 900 students (including 350 full-time students) and highly qualified scientifically-pedagogical staff, three professors, and 30 senior lecturers. The historically-philological faculty gained wide popularity and many traditions during its existence. In1968/69 there was opened the 8th faculty-of Physics and Mathematics at the university. The generally-technical faculty have correspondence, and part-time departments became the base of sooner development of the machine-building and civil engineering faculties in the nearest future. At the eight university faculties, there were 45 generally-scientific and unique (profile) chairs supplying the principal scientific (20 chairs) and unique (25 chairs) preparation and graduation of young specialists in 15 specialties (23 specializations). During the university organizing, Kazan state university, named after V. I. Ulyanov-Lenin, helped a lot, sending two doctors and ten science candidates to Cheboksary. Nowadays, in its organizational-legal form, The Federal State Educational Establishment of Higher Professional Education "The Chuvash state university named after I. N. Ulyanov" is a non-commercial organization and realizing its activities according to the Constitution of the RF, the Constitution of the CR, the RF Law "About education," the RF Law "About higher and post-graduate education," some other legislative acts of the RF, the Typical position of an educational establishment o the higher professional education (higher school) of the RF, the standard legal certificates of the Ministry of education of the RF and the University charter. The university has a license giving the right to conduct educational activities in higher professional education and the certificate of the state accreditation. The main problems of the university as the center of education, science, and culture are: The satisfaction of person requirements in intellectual, cultural and moral development by getting higher and post-graduation professional education and qualification in the chosen field of professional activity The satisfaction of society requirements in qualified specialists having higher education and scientifically-pedagogical staff of the highest qualification preparation of specialists possessing high competing qualities The assistance in the Russian state strengthening, the upbringing of Russian patriots during the studying process, the citizens of a democratic legal state, respecting the personality rights and freedoms, possessing high morals, showing national and religious tolerance, respective relation to languages, traditions, and culture of all the nations The harmonious personal development, forming of a healthy lifestyle, counteraction to the malicious social processes Forming of the student's complete outlook, modern scientific outlook, labor motivation, active life position, teaching the main principles of career building and behavior skills at the labor market Spreading of knowledge among the population, rising of their general educational and cultural level, collecting, keeping and increasing the moral, cultural and scientific values of the society The integration of the CR educational system within the university scientifically-educational complex Organizing of the studying process accounting the modern scientific achievements, systematical renewal of all the educational aspects reflecting the changes in the fields of culture, economics, science, technics, and technology Organizing and holding of fundamental searching and applied scientific research and other scientifically-technical, experimentally-constructive work including the problems of education The preparation, retraining, and qualification rising for specialists and executives Performing the editor and printing activities to supply the studying process and popularization of scientific achievements.
  2. Graduate Division, as an independent structural division, is part of the Office of Science and Innovation Academy. Responsibility for the organization of the department graduate assigned to the head of the Department of postgraduate study under the supervision of Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Research. From 1992 to 2014, we trained 367 graduate students at the Academy. Successfully defended immediately after graduate school for this period, 179 people. In addition to postgraduate research at the Academy is carried out and attached face. From 1995 to date, under the supervision of the Academy performed his scientific work with 185 people. Scientific management of postgraduate dissertations carried out 32 scientific advisers, 19 of them are doctors, professors. In this case, attention is paid to selecting subjects of research in priority areas of science and technology. When you open the Chuvash Agricultural Institute in 1931/32 academic year, one of the first departments of the Department of social and economic disciplines, it was created. It has brought together disciplines: political economy, economic geography, and the socialist reconstruction of agriculture. Department was headed by IE Efimov, the first director of the institute. In the 30 years, it has been transformed into the Department of Marxism-Leninism, uniting disciplines: history, political economy, and philosophy. Later, it created two departments: the political economy and the history of Marxist-Leninist philosophy and Scientific Communism. In 1984 he formed the Department of "Philosophy, History and Law," which taught disciplines: philosophy, history, political science, sociology, cultural studies, legal discipline. The functioning of the postgraduate admission plan was carried out during the postgraduate year. In 2010, 27 people (or on full-time and correspondence forms of 18 and 9) were enrolled, 32 people. In 2011, 26 people (or on full-time and correspondence forms of 16 and 10) were enrolled, 29 people. In 2012, the plan was 27 people (or on full-time and correspondence forms of 17 and 10) were enrolled, 32 people. (Respectively extramural and intramural 18 and 14). In 2013, the plan was 26 people (or on full-time and correspondence forms of 16 and 10) were enrolled, 27 people. (Respectively extramural and intramural 16 and 11). In 2014, the plan receiving 17 people had been enlisted, 21 people. (Respectively extramural and intramural 18 and 3). Currently enrolled in graduate 82 graduate students (50 full-time and 32 part-time modes of study).
