      1. Chorlton Park is a happy and caring school where children can acquire the skills and knowledge to become confident and successful learners with high aspirations. Through excellent teaching, we ignite imaginations and make learning irresistible. We work in partnership with parents/carers and the wider community to ensure the success of our children. We believe that children deserve the best possible chances in life and that they learn best when there are strong links between home and school. Through our engaging curriculum, we ensure that children can foster a passion for learning and curiosity that will help to develop high aspirations and a lifetime of memories. Our children are encouraged to explore, discover and question through a range of exciting learning opportunities both within and outside the classroom. We believe in ensuring that children receive a well-rounded curriculum where individual interests and talents can be spotted and nurtured to ensure that all children experience success and reach their full potential. At Chorlton Park Primary School we aim to provide a happy, stimulating, and secure community for every child. This, in conjunction with a rich and challenging learning experience, will ensure that all children reach their full potential, both emotionally and physically, and are completely prepared to take their place in our diverse world. Everyone who works in our school is valued as an individual and staff work as a team, sharing expertise, knowledge, and skills. Chorlton Park strongly values the partnership between home, school, and community. We provide both full and part-time nursery places for children who are aged three from 1st September to 31st August of the previous school year. Children cannot be admitted to our nursery until they are three. We aim to have all our children admitted to the nursery by the end of September. Children’s names need to be on the Nursery Waiting List by the end of March, the school year before they are due to start in Nursery. Parents and carers will receive a letter during April if their child has been offered a place. Parents and carers need to accept this place by the deadline on the letter. Once the place has been accepted transition program will be organized for your child. This is run by the Nursery Team. Manchester local authority is responsible for admissions of all reception places, including children already attending our Nursery. The local authority forms must be completed by parents online, or parents can request a paper form. This must be completed by the nominated date in December the year before your child is due to start Reception. A late application could result in your child not getting a place at the school of their choice. If your child joins us partway through their primary education our friendly staff will assist you with completing the paperwork and give you a tour of our school. You will also meet your child's new teacher before they starting and get all of the information you need to make their first day go as smoothly as possible. We believe every experience children have contributes towards their outstanding achievements, including those funded by this grant. We use the grant to enrich children’s experience to help them become increasingly confident in all aspects of learning. We are proud to say that we are a school that’s sharply focused on the future. We’re at the forefront of new developments in ways of teaching and using modern technology as a tool for learning. Our 21st Century approach isn’t about gigabytes and Google though. Chorlton Park is different because of the ways we use new technology and educational theory to make every child’s experience here as effective and enriching as possible. Our personalized approach to learning encourages personal development and promotes high standards while keeping our curriculum broad and exciting. What we’re aiming for are children who can use and apply their essential literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills confidently in the classroom and everyday life. Chorlton Park aims to be a school where children's rights are at the very heart of our ethos and culture, to improve-well being, and to develop every child's talents and abilities to their full potential. As part of this plan, we are working towards recognition as a "Rights Respecting School", an award given to schools on behalf of Unicef UK. Unicef is the world's leading organization working for children and young people and their rights. In 1989, governments across the world agreed that all children have the same rights by adopting the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). These rights are based on what a child needs to survive, grow, participate and fulfill their potential. Chorlton Park pupils will learn about their rights by putting them into practice every day. A Rights Respecting School models rights and respect in all its relationships. The Pupil Premium funding that is received by the school annually is used in a variety of ways to improve pupil attainment and to help overcome any barriers to learning. We have utilized strategies from ‘Narrowing the Gap’ and the Sutton Trust EEF toolkit, which has been researched and analyzed extensively, to inform us of the best ways to use this money. From September 2013 all primary schools across England have received a share of the Primary Physical Education and Sport Premium. The funding is ring-fenced and must be spent on improving the provision and quality of PE and sport in primary schools so that pupils develop healthy lifestyles. View full school

Computing lessons take place in these 5 rooms, which are also available for students to use in their own time after school hours under Teacher supervision. Students have ample storage space on their network drive, as well as filtered safe high-speed broadband Internet access. Our school VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) is fully accessible in and out of school. Students can access ‘I am Learning’, Independent Assessments, and Subject Zones and use their ‘I'm Portfolio to transport their school work securely and safely to and from home. Each student at Chorlton High is in a Tutor Group with a tutor who acts as the key point of contact for parents and staff for all matters relating to the students in that form. Our form tutors work closely with their tutees and have an overview of academic progress and emotional well-being. Each Year group is led by a Head of Year who has overall responsibility for the progress, monitoring, safety, and welfare of students in the Year group. Our trained team delivers play and art sessions to individuals and groups of students who may be dealing with personal issues such as bereavement or having difficulty engaging in lessons. Our THINC Room is designed to provide students with a comfortable, fun, haven in which to explore their difficulties and find solutions. Referrals are made through the Heads of Year and this resource is accessed by students in all Year groups. Student and parental feedback on the effects of these sessions for students continue to be extremely positive. Doddle allows students to access and complete their homework online and it also has a bank of learning and revision materials that students can access at any time. Students will be given their passwords in form time. Students can change their password when they first log in. If a student forgets their password all members of staff can access or re-set passwords. Alternatively, students can go to Student Services. The government has provided additional funding to schools to support young people from low-income families and to support them in achieving their best. This extra funding is determined by the proportion of pupils receiving Free School Meals. Chorlton High School is committed to ensuring that all young people are supported to achieve their potential academically and to develop the skills and attributes necessary to succeed within Higher Education and future employment. This commitment is particularly important where young people experience cultural, social, or financial disadvantage and the school seeks to use the funding offered through the Pupil Premium to better address the needs of these students. Our Equalities Policy is in line with national guidance and contains information about how the school complies with the Public Sector Equality Duty. We also give guidance to staff and the wider school community on our approach to promoting equality. Our Equality Objectives reflect the school's priorities, our Cooperative values and draw upon available data and other evidence. Careful analysis of this is undertaken to ensure that we are working to achieve improved outcomes for different groups. View full school
      3. Chorlton CofE believes in a child-centered approach to education, every child should and does matter and, as a school, we will endeavor to be proactive in ensuring all children stay safe, keep healthy and develop a love of learning to fulfill their potential. Our vision is anchored in values - Respect, Honesty, Friendship, Perseverance, Tolerance, and Enjoyment which underpin all aspects of school life. Parents/carers will be informed in the admissions process that full-time places are allocated for the complete academic year. A full term’s notice will be required from any parent wishing to withdraw their child from any nursery place. For all children, the first 15 hours per week are free of charge. Following changes to nursery funding made by the Local Authority, some full-time places will continue to be fully funded. Other children will need to pay the nursery for the additional 15 hours. We will use the same priorities for nursery admission as those set by the Local Authority for admissions to the main school and they will be applied to ensure that the nursery is full. We will be accepting applications from children born in the appropriate academic year to enter the nursery cohort. We follow the English National Curriculum which aims to provide a broad, balanced, and relevant curriculum allowing access to all pupils at their appropriate level. Every effort is made to make learning enjoyable, worthwhile and ensure the school provides stimulating experiences that employ a variety of teaching strategies. Our curriculum is designed to ensure that children achieve their full potential academically and personally. We aim to develop good global citizens in a modern and world-class system - children that are prepared for success in life. The school aims to ignite children's love of learning through opportunities to excite, enrich and explore. School governors are there to ensure that schools are well run. They have an important part to play in raising school standards by working with the headteacher and senior management team to ensure pupils get a good education. School governors are the largest volunteer force in the country. They represent people from many walks of life: school staff, parents, the local community, and even the church or organization connected to the school. This means that school decisions are made by people with a wide range of experience and views. The Head Teacher is responsible for the internal organization, management, and control of the school and the implementation of the strategic framework established by the Governing Body. Individual governors may not act independently of the rest of the Governing Body. Decisions are the joint responsibility of the Governing Body. Chorlton CE Primary School is delighted to be a board member of the Manchester Teaching School Alliance, working with other partners, to deliver high-quality support for teachers and leaders at all stages in their career within the alliance and beyond. Following The Department for Education, we aim to actively promote British values in schools to ensure young people leave school prepared for life in modern Britain. Pupils are encouraged to regard people of all faiths, races, and cultures with respect and tolerance and understand that while different people may hold different views about what is ‘right’ and ‘wrong’, all people living in England are subject to its law. Without exception, every child at Chorlton C of E is valued. We recognize that every child is unique and we are committed to ensuring that we meet their needs and discover the individual potential of every child. It is our aim that teaching and learning should be an exciting and fulfilling experience for everyone at our school. We ensure that the teaching and learning opportunities meet the needs of all the pupils. We ensure that appropriate provision is made for pupils who belong to vulnerable groups, this includes ensuring that the needs of socially disadvantaged pupils are adequately assessed and addressed. In making the provision for socially disadvantaged pupils, we recognize that not all pupils who receive free school meals will be socially disadvantaged. We also recognize that not all pupils who are socially disadvantaged are registered or qualify for a free school meal. We reserve the right to allocate the pupil premium funding to support any pupil or groups of pupils the school has legitimately identified as being socially disadvantaged. Pupil premium funding will be allocated following a needs analysis which will identify priority classes, groups, or individuals. Limited funding and resources mean that not all children receiving free school meals will receive pupil premium interventions at one time. Chorlton CE Primary School seeks to develop the full potential of each child, recognizing the uniqueness of each individual and having high expectations for all children. We aim to provide a broad, balanced, and creative curriculum within a caring environment in which all pupils can develop towards their full potential regardless of ability. The achievements, attitudes, and well-being of our children matter. A pupil is considered to have Special Educational Needs if he or she has defined difficulties over and above those generally experienced by the majority of his or her peer group. These difficulties may be sensory, cognitive, physical, social, or emotional and some children may have complex needs, which cover a range of difficulties. This policy aims to address the needs of these pupils. Children with EAL should not be regarded as having SEN, although pupils with EAL may also have SEN. View full school
      4. Loreto Chorlton is a successful 11 – 16 Catholic co-educational, comprehensive high school located in South Manchester. We have high expectations for all our 750 students and are committed to finding and developing the talents they possess whilst supporting their academic progress and achievements. We have a talented and highly committed team of teachers and support staff that continually goes the extra mile to ensure that students have every opportunity to become their best selves: morally, spiritually, and emotionally and we use gospel values to guide our actions. As a comprehensive high school, we naturally cater to students with a range of abilities and thus we are highly skilled practitioners in encouraging every student, regardless of their ability on entry, to make good progress and achieve a set of personal GCSE results that they can be proud of. In addition to accessing a challenging curriculum, we encourage our students to take part in extra-curricular activities so that they mature into well-rounded individuals who are keen to explore and who can develop their interpersonal skills through teamwork and training. We offer a wide range of activities from football to jazz band so that there is something for everyone to choose from in the enrichment program, which changes each term. At Loreto Chorlton, we are proud to be part of an international network of Loreto schools and colleges and we will work to interpret and apply the international guidelines for Loreto Education within the context of England in the early 21st century. Within our schools and college, the story of Mary Ward will be re-interpreted to, and by, each new generation. Her vision and values will find expression in the experience offered to and shaped by, our students, parents, staff, and governors. We are ambitious for our students not just in the context of academic excellence but also in the context of human possibilities, and as educators, we will stretch hearts as well as minds. Loreto High School is a Roman Catholic secondary school provided by the Diocese of Salford and maintained by the Manchester Local Authority as a Voluntary Aided School. The school’s Governing Body is the Admissions Authority and is responsible for taking decisions on applications for admission to Loreto. The pupil admission number for each year group is 150. When the school receives more applications than there are places available then places are allocated in line with the over-subscription criteria, published in the school’s admissions policy. At Loreto, we recognize that our teachers are the key to success for our students and so each one is carefully handpicked for the qualities and talents that they can bring to the team. Loreto teachers are highly valued and well supported, which means that they can give their best to the students and willingly go the extra mile to ensure that students are successful and happy. To ensure that classroom standards remain high, teachers take part in continual professional development training. ‘Best Practice’ techniques are shared and evaluated amongst sta. Lessons are regularly observed and graded in line with the Ofsted criteria to ensure that students experience high-quality teaching. We encourage our students to become women and men who use their gifts and talents to make a difference both globally and locally men and women of courage, who will challenge accepted notions and modes of society when they are at odds with the values for which we stand. We are part of the 400-year-old Loreto Family which has a reputation for delivering excellence in education on an international basis. Our students have direct access to Loreto College (16-19), one of the top-performing colleges in the country, which has talented subject specialist teachers, several of whom are nationally acclaimed for their work or are A-level examiners in their subject. We believe we owe our success to a combination of factors including a rigorous academic curriculum handpicked talented, enthusiastic, and caring teachers and support staff extensive professional development programs to ensure consistently high standards supportive parents who are happy with the school and most importantly students who are motivated to learn in a safe and well-structured environment. We want our students to be aspirational for their futures and know they are valued and unique members of the Loreto Community. The curriculum at Loreto High School is centered on our Catholic belief that each child is a unique individual in the eyes of God and is infused with the Loreto values of Freedom, Justice, Sincerity, Truth, Joy, Internationality, and Excellence. From the very beginning, our curriculum is designed to challenge students to achieve the very highest standards in academic subjects, physical education, and the arts. We begin by getting to know our students before they even join us through our program of workshops with the primary schools. This intensifies over the final term of Year 6 when a team of Year 7 teachers visits the primaries to meet the Year 6 teachers to discuss individual children, their talents, and their targets for development. 6.
