Diversity brings active and challenging encounters that move us from mere tolerance to genuine acceptance and understanding of others. In and out of the classroom, students and adults are encouraged to see the world through different lenses, become better learners, be more culturally versatile, be ready to participate as responsible citizens and provide leadership in an increasingly multicultural world. In addition to the core college preparatory curriculum, our four signature programs provide pathways to concentrate studies and applied to learn in interest areas for students to delve further and experience real-world applications—and define college and post-graduate goals. The Academic Center supports students seeking assistance from teachers, tutors, learning specialists, and academic coaches throughout the school day. Includes information about the Writing Lab and Professional Tutor Program. Online learning provides meaningful learning opportunities using a wide variety of teaching modalities. It's great for students and families who want more flexibility, customization, and self-directed education. In today's social learning takes place anytime, anywhere. In a time when we know more about a student's learning, learning styles, and best practices than ever before, Bullis acknowledges and accommodates academic diversity and welcomes students who can benefit from the curriculum without significant modifications. The School's learning specialists work with students in all grades to help them access the curriculum while instilling the essential life skills of self-awareness and self-advocacy. Our learning specialists are the primary contacts for students with learning disabilities and create educational plans for these students, including lists of reasonable accommodations. The learning specialist may contact families for any student if there are academic concerns or if outside support is recommended. A family should contact the learning specialist in their child's division if they would like referrals for tutors or more information about professionals who perform academic evaluations. The learning specialists serve as liaisons between these outside professionals and the School. Our learning specialists also work with teachers and division principals to implement a thoughtful curriculum, improve teaching strategies, and increase differentiated instruction for all students.
