Brandon University offers a wide range of degree programs, including Arts, Education, Music, Health Studies, and Science. Spend your first two years at Assiniboine Community College, then transfer to Brandon University in your third year with these four different 2+2 programs. We offer Graduate programs in Education, Music, Psychiatric Nursing, Environmental & Life Sciences, and Rural Development. Take advantage of small class sizes and exceptional student-to-faculty interaction before transferring a different post-secondary institution. They are designed to enhance a student’s degree program or allow local professionals to enhance their knowledge and skills. Brandon University’s History Department offers courses in social history, gender and women’s history, cultural history, public history, and those in national and world history reflect the increasing diversity of historical studies. Small classes allow students to discuss and debate historical developments and work closely with professors, all of whom are active researchers and writers. The McKee Archives at BU allows students to become historians in their own right, researching and writing history from the original documents. It is a member of the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC) and the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU). The Baptist Home Mission first sent missionaries to southwestern Manitoba in 1869, and settlers began to arrive in the area after 1871. Both settlers and missionaries soon saw a need for a denominational college for Manitoba youth, and several attempts to found a college was made. In 1880, Dr. John Crawford and Rev. G. B. Davis opened Prairie College in Rapid City, 20 miles north of Brandon. The College failed, and Rev. Davis founded a small academy in Rapid City that was subsequently taken over by his brother-in-law, Prof. S. J. McKee. McKee’s Academy was moved to Brandon in 1890 following the projection of the CPR mainline through the Assiniboine Valley that resulted in the market growth of Brandon's market. View full university

Brandon Hall's mission as a co-educational, global boarding and day school challenges students to lead leadership, scholarship, and service lives. Our community celebrates Learning, fosters global citizenship, embraces diversity, encourages athleticism and artistic expression, and inspires students to find their path and lead the way. Boarding school students are in their learning environment 24/7, and they use their time on campus more productively. Boarding school students enjoy more than double the time per week with teachers, coaches, and staff members outside class — about 9 hours per week than 4 hours at other schools. 87% of boarding school students report feeling very well prepared academically for college than 39% of public school students. Boarding school students say that boarding school has helped them develop self-discipline, maturity, independence, and the ability to think critically. Founded in 1959 by Theodore and Shirley Hecht, Brandon Hall School is located on a pristine 24-acre campus on the Chattahoochee River near Atlanta, Georgia. The campus is the former summer estate of prominent Atlantan Morris Brandon and his wife, Harriet Inman, and includes the original 1920's residence. Under Mr. Hecht's guidance, 1959 – 1980, Brandon Hall School provided one-to-one instruction to boys from across the country. From 1980 to – present, the school has undergone many changes and improvements under the various Heads of School. During this time, the academic buildings and dormitory were built. Brandon Hall School was named a National School of Excellence, grades 4 – 8 were added. The school joined the Atlanta Athletic Conference while introducing various competitive sports for both girls and boys. The Resident Housing was built for faculty and staff wishing to live on campus, and the Great Hall was renovated to create a welcoming entrance to the school. In recent years, Brandon Hall has created an administrative leadership team and brought the board of trustees' role into a clear focus. Many changes resulted from those activities: Girl's Boarding was added. Significant upgrades in technology were made. Community relations were strengthened. National and International marketing of the Brandon Hall School increased the pool of appropriate applicants. Full-time counselors were added. Significant raises in faculty salaries were instituted, making Brandon Hall School compete for the best teachers. The Dual-Diploma program was created with two schools in China, allowing their students to study at Brandon Hall School and graduate from high school with a diploma from their home school and Brandon Hall School. The E-Learning program was introduced. Project-Based Learning was implemented. Brandon Hall Performance Standards were created. There has been a renewed emphasis on professional development for all teachers and staff. Sipple Dormitory was renovated. These changes actively increased the fiscal sustainability of the school while supporting the school's mission. Today, Brandon Hall is a coed nonprofit college preparatory day and boarding school serving students in grades 6th - 12th from across the United States and 20 countries. We offer 9 AP and 5 Honors courses in addition to traditional college preparatory classes.
