Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing & Health Sciences has a long and rich history. Our program was founded in 1891 to expand formal educational opportunities that would enable us to better care for our community. In 1909, Blessing-Rieman was among the first accredited nursing schools in the nation. Today, we maintain national and regional accreditation. As part of your clinical experience, you will have the opportunity to train in our Simulation Center. In this sophisticated learning environment, you can master clinical skills to feel confident the moment you enter a real clinical setting. The online Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance gives you access to a database of all Federal programs available to State and local governments (including the District of Columbia) federally -recognized Indian tribal governments Territories (and possessions) of the United States domestic public, quasi-public, and private profit and nonprofit organizations and institutions specialized groups and individuals. The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has approximately 300 grant programs administered in a decentralized manner by several agencies. The Center for Rural Health administers several scholarship programs for students in the health professions. All programs require scholarship recipients to practice in an underserved area upon completion of their training. NIH funds grants, cooperative agreements, and contracts that support the advancement of fundamental knowledge about the nature and behavior of living systems to meet the NIH mission of extending healthy life and reducing illness and disability burdens. While NIH awards many grants specifically for research, we also provide grant opportunities that support research-related activities, including construction, training, career development, conferences, resource grants, etc. Yearly funding opportunities are listed—information on nursing education and practice grant programs, scholarship, loan, and loan repayment programs. The Office works both within government at federal, state, and local levels and with the private sector -- with associations, foundations, providers, and community leaders -- to seek rural health care problems. The financial aid provided to nursing students consists of loans for undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate training that may be forgiven or written off in exchange for service in underserved areas. The mission of the Foundation Center is to foster public understanding of the foundation field by collecting, organizing, analyzing, and disseminating information on foundations, corporate giving, and related subjects.
