Benilde is a learning environment that nurtures students to develop their interests and passions and trains them to become professionally competent in established industries and emerging fields of specialization. From its humble beginnings as a night school for working professionals, our College continues to blaze a trail by offering innovative programs with a thrust on learner-centered education. St. John Baptist de La Salle created a community of Christian schools throughout France in his time. But what he has done is transform the structure and system of education across four centuries all over the world, a legacy for which he was proclaimed Patron Saint of Teachers. St. La Salle established free schools and formed the community known as the Brothers of the Christian Schools. His legacy lives on today, as De La Salle Brothers, assisted by more than 100,000 lay colleagues, teach over 1,000,000 students in 82 countries. The School of Hotel, Restaurant, and Institution Management (SHRIM) future prime hoteliers, restaurateurs, and managers for the hospitality industry's rigors and precision.SHRIM adheres to the philosophy that superior education culminates in practice. Its campus, the Angelo King International Center (AKIC), houses industry-standard kitchen laboratories where students apply what they learn through hands-on experience. We will not teach you creativity. We will not instill in your talent. You already have those in you. What we only need to do is to light you up. The School of Design and Arts (SDA) offers a broad scope of degree programs in specialized creative disciplines that meet today's information-driven world's demands. The SDA Campus, a 14-story academic complex, is one big playground for creative minds and a venue that stimulates students to think outside the box, shift perspectives, and innovate ideas. Our School of Diplomacy and Governance (SDG) offers a Bachelor of Arts major in Consular and Diplomatic Affairs for learners drawn to politics and international relations. Our School of Management and Information Technology (SMIT) is home to future business leaders fluent in the language of new technologies.SMIT offers degree programs that are responsive to the challenges of today's knowledge and technology-based industries. Our School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies (SDEAS) is a leader in learner-centered Deaf education.SDEAS champions Filipino Deaf identity and culture through its academic offerings, formation programs by establishing partnerships between the Hearing and Deaf community. We highlight the importance of working with the Deaf rather than working for the Deaf. Our Filipino Sign Language Learning Program (FSLLP) is a certificate course open to all Deaf and Hearing individuals from Benilde and the general public. They want to communicate using sign language. FSL classes are handled by Deaf instructors who integrate visual-gestural strategies with community interaction, allowing you to experience first-hand the Deaf's language and culture. The Master of Science in Tourism and Hospitality Management program has three tracks of specialization: Culinary Management, Tourism Management, and Hospitality Management. MSTHM trains hospitality professionals to become sharp and critical decision-makers who have strong foundations in the business and science of hospitality and strategic development competencies in food products, travel, and service industries. The Master in International Business (MIB) is a one-year degree graduate program for business people and professional managers who want to make their firms more competitive in the local market, expand their operations outside the Philippines, or make their market position more potent in the international or global markets. Whether the thesis-track or non-thesis track, the MIB program provides graduate students the hard skills in managing the operational and strategic aspects of the business in an ever-challenging and dynamic market. The Master in Human Resource Management program is a one and a half year modular program that equips those in the Human Resource field with appropriate tools and skills to make effective decisions. The BEST Scholarship offers a substantial benefits package for scholars. It is awarded to those with outstanding academic records and consistent substantive achievement in curricular, co- and extracurricular activities. Awardees may come from any degree program, except for the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Business Management or Marketing Management programs. The ENTRACA is a scholarship awarded to the top 10 scorers in the Benildean Entrance Exam (BEE). The Honors Scholarship is awarded to freshmen applicants in the top three of their senior graduating batch from selected public and parochial high schools.
