- Bandon Hill in its entirety is a very happy school in which all children feel secure and confident. Children are encouraged to develop positive attitudes towards learning and to achieve high standards in all that they do. The original Bandon Hill Primary School in Sandy Lane South is now known as Bandon Hill Primary – Meadow Field and has 2 forms of entry. The expansion of Bandon Hill on Stanley Park Road is known as Bandon Hill Primary – Wood Field and has 4 forms of entry. There is also an autistic department on these premises known as Oak Field. We are extremely fortunate at Bandon Hill to have a team of caring and highly motivated staff, who provide an exciting and stimulating environment in which all children can be provided with a wealth and variety of learning experiences. These experiences will help them develop their basic skills, concepts, and social attitudes alongside their emotional, physical and intellectual development. Our goal is to help all children develop lively enquiring minds, good personal relationships, and the knowledge and skills for the ever-changing technological and multi-cultural world in which we live. To achieve this, self-discipline and tolerance of others, their cultures, and races are encouraged at all times. We recognize the importance of good home/school links and the partnership with parents. Bandon Hill Primary School Aims:- To create a happy, fair, safe, and stimulating learning environment, where we strive for the very highest standards in everything we do. To encourage everyone to develop physically, intellectually, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. To consider the feelings and opinions of others. To understand the value of friendship and tolerance. To develop lively, enquiring minds. To encourage the support of each child’s home and community. To show self-discipline, self-respect, and perseverance. Within school, pupils are actively encouraged to make choices, knowing that they are in a safe and supportive environment. Pupils are encouraged to know, understand and exercise their rights and personal freedoms and are advised how to exercise these safely, for example through our E-Safety and PSCHE lessons. Whether it is through the choice of challenge, how they record works, selection of lunches, or participation in our extensive extra-curricular clubs – pupils are given the freedom to make appropriate choices. Part of our school ethos and behavior policy has revolved around core values such as ‘Respect’, and pupils have been part of discussions and assemblies related to what this means and how it is shown.
