      1. Aschaffenburg University of Applied Sciences (UAS) is a dynamic and growing university of applied sciences known for its innovative and interdisciplinary approach to education and its close links with the business world. We offer bachelor's and master's degree programs with a strong practical focus on business, law, and engineering. Aschaffenburg UAS's programs are fully accredited and place exceptionally well in German university rankings. Close collaboration with German and international corporations and international university partnerships ensure that students gain practical knowledge and international experience, enhancing their prospects for successful careers in today's demanding global market. Aschaffenburg UAS is a university of applied sciences, one of the two main types of higher education institutions in Germany. While traditional universities are theoretically oriented, universities of applied sciences have a more practical outlook and focus on teaching professional skills. Both types of institutions can issue bachelor's and master's degrees. However, universities of applied sciences do not independently issue doctoral degrees; instead, their focus lies in close cooperation and interaction with businesses, industry, and service providers, especially on a regional level. In keeping with this foundation, degree programs at Aschaffenburg UAS combine academic studies, on-the-job training, and a period of specialization culminating in a final thesis. Aschaffenburg UAS is located in the heart of Germany's Frankfurt-Rhine-Main business region, home to nearly 400,000 companies, 40 international trade fairs, and 30 higher education institutions. This strategic location allows us to cultivate mutually beneficial partnerships with hundreds of local and international companies. Students have extensive opportunities for part-time jobs, internships, and post-graduation employment, and researchers will find the region ideal for partnered projects. The community at Aschaffenburg University of Applied Sciences (UAS) comprises faculty, staff, and students from many walks of life. Across our diverse backgrounds and interests, we share the following core values: All of our education, research, and partnership activities are carried out with our students' personal, academic, and professional development as our absolute priority. We see it as our duty as a leading university of applied sciences to set them on the path to successful careers in their chosen fields. Aschaffenburg University of Applied Sciences is home to some 300 academic and professional faculty and staff. We are proud to offer a welcoming, diverse, and family-friendly working environment. Our small size makes for a warm sense of community on campus. And the town of Aschaffenburg, with its beautiful historical architecture and cultural heritage, is a beautiful place to live and work. Aschaffenburg is also easy to reach for international visitors, with Frankfurt's international airport just a short train or car ride away. Industry-leading applied research lies at the heart of the programs and activities at Aschaffenburg University of Applied Sciences (UAS). Research is carried out at several research institutes, and the Aschaffenburg Centre supports specific research activities for Research Services and Knowledge Transfer, also known as ZeWiS. The Fraunhofer Application Centre for Resource Efficiency is a cooperative venture between the Fraunhofer IWKS Work Group (Alzenau) and the University of Applied Sciences Aschaffenburg. In its work, the AWZ Work Group establishes the basis for securing the supply of raw materials to our industrial sector, thereby ensuring a continued leading position in high-end technology. Our research facilities include some 28 laboratory facilities (information in German), each specialized for a particular research area and equipped with modern technology. The Natural Sciences Centre (Zentrum Naturwissenschaften) is also home to much research and experimentation, serving as the university's focal point for student research, industry knowledge transfer, and community outreach with students from upper secondary schools. Our esteemed faculty members actively publish in German and international journals. Aschaffenburg University of Applied Sciences offers degree programs on the bachelor and master levels aligned with the standard European system. In addition to full degree programs, double-degree programs are offered in partnership with Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences in Finland. Although there are many individual modules taught in English, all of our full degree programs contain many compulsory components in German. Therefore, an advanced German language proficiency level is a requirement for admission to a bachelor's or master's degree program. Bachelor's programs are designed to last seven semesters or three and a half academic years. This includes one semester doing an internship at a company in a relevant field. Upon completing a bachelor's program, students receive either a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Law, or Bachelor of Engineering degree. Students who have completed a bachelor's degree can continue with a more advanced study by enrolling in a master's program. Master's programs at Aschaffenburg UAS are three semesters long. This includes the writing of a master's thesis based on independent academic research. Upon completing a master's program, students receive either a Master of Science, Master of Engineering, or a Master of Business Administration and Law degree.
