  1. SSUA was founded in 2013. The university provides an environment for both undergraduate and graduate studies. Also, SSUA maintains several research centers related to the social sciences. SSUA is a research-oriented university for both undergraduate and graduate studies. Among the university’s primary aims is social sciences research that positively contributes to the international literature. To that end, SSUA encourages its academic staff and students to engage in national-international scientific projects and supports their effective use of social sciences research funds provided by national (TUBİTAK, and other public and private institutions) and international bodies. If you are interested in the phenomena as to humans and societies, and if you like to progress in social sciences as a discipline, the right address should be the Social Sciences University of Ankara (SSUA). SSUA is a young, dynamic state university with a vision in social sciences. Its scope with social sciences oriented activities compels SSUA to progress more profoundly in those disciplines and to become a leader in its field as a part of its mission and vision. Since social sciences as a discipline are more complicated, thus being full of challenging readings compared to the other disciplines, SSUA aims at offering a medium for the self-confident researchers with intellectually high capacity and entrepreneurship. As a natural part of social sciences, SSUA, designed as an urban university, is located in Ulus, at the old city center on the road from the Ankara Castle-Hajı Bayram Wali to the First Grand National Assembly of Turkey, being the most spectacular parts of Ankara. Combining history, art, wisdom, and knowledge, this exceptional place is itself a “social laboratory,” stimulating learning environment, and a campus offering observations and social experiments. Our mission, in line with the universal human values, is to have a leading role in the development of research as to the field of social sciences in Turkey, to shed light on the future of the region and the country alike through the research in social sciences, to contribute to the “universe” of researchers, and to transfer the outputs collected from research into the benefit of society. Our vision, as the Social Sciences University of Ankara, is to become a prominent research university on a global scale with a multilingual and multicultural profile, using high tech at historic buildings, embracing the whole world with its scope, giving priority to international collaboration, through focusing on undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

    Ankara University

As the oldest university of the Turkish Republic, the history and mission of Ankara University have greatly coincided with that of the young State founded by Atatürk. The Turkish Republic's establishment was much more than just a change in government; it was also a tremendous social transformation based on modern science, contemporary democratic values, and institutions. Similarly, the institution of Ankara University can be considered one of Atatürk's most important statements on the character and objectives of higher education, which should be entrusted to the State rather than other institutions. The foundation of Ankara University was a personal initiative of Atatürk, meant to form the basis of his principles and revolutionary ideas to disseminate, firmly establish, and defend these principles and ideas that express modernity, science, and enlightenment nationwide. The initial and impressive accomplishments of the new Republic in the area of higher education were to open a new School of Law to educate jurists for a new restructuring of the law in 1925 to establish the Higher Institute of Agriculture to serve the farmers of Turkey in 1933 to open the Faculty of Humanities to gather data on numerous Anatolian cultures and their richness, and to establish international linguistic and cultural ties in 1935 to open the doors of the School of Political Sciences, which had been training high-ranking public administrators under the name of Mekteb-i Mülkiye since 1859 and moved to Ankara in 1936 by Atatürk's particular order. To the institutions mentioned above, the Faculties of Medicine and Science, also initiated by Atatürk, but whose opening was postponed to the late 1940s because of the Second World War, should also be added. The subsequent history of Ankara University, officially established in 1946 with the Faculties of Law, Humanities, Science and Medicine, each of which had essential missions in the building of the Republic of Turkey, is as follows:
  3. Good university education is everyone's right. Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University is an institution with an awareness of the mission of our country that has reached a distinguished place in the region and the world in financial, social, cultural, historical and political aspects. We aim to be a university to be preferred by students from all parts of the world. For this reason, our language of education is mostly in English, which has been a language of communication and science. The university whose objective is to have 25 % of foreign nationality students is being shaped as "A Research University," which has 50% of graduate students distinguishes it from others. The responsibilities of universities are not limited to enabling the profession to the students. In addition to this, universities are also the institutions that train intellectuals who will guide society in technological, cultural, social aspects. On the other hand, another responsibility of the universities is to be an institutional pioneer. Aware of this responsibility, Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University guides and is in cooperation with not only the society but also private and public institutions if needed. By developing interdisciplinary cooperation, we are striving to turn the studies carried out within this cooperation framework into social, cultural, technological, commercial products. As seen in the distinguished educational institutions worldwide, Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University allocates the working hours of academic staff to project workshops during which academic staff and the students can work together. This provides our precious students the chance to practice what they learn in real-life theory with examples. The university that will follow the path our Great Leader Atatürk points out, reaching the level of contemporary civilization, aims to be within the top 500 universities of the world in the country's centenary in 2023. We are in the service of our students with 12 campuses located in different parts of Ankara. Our main campus is located in Esenboğa District. The first phase of the campus construction covering the closed area of 80.000 square meters has been completed. We started offering education to our students in the central campus in the 2016-2017 Academic Year. As it happened in last year, prep class students of Medicine, Engineering, Business, Political Sciences who are offered 100% English education and students of Law and Humanities and Society who are offered 30% English education have their classes at Etlik Campus nearby Antares and Metro Shopping Centres and in which School of Foreign Languages takes place. In 2016-2017 Academic Year, students of Faculty of Medicine will continue their education at Bilkent while students of School of Foreign Languages and students of Nursing, newly established program of Social Work, Sports Sciences, Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation of Faculty of Health Sciences are going to continue their education at Etlik Eastern Campus. On the other hand, students of the Faculty of Law, Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Faculty of Dentistry will be offered an education at Etlik Eastern Campus. As for students of the State Conservatory for Turkish Music, they will be educated at Cinnah Campus.
