- We are a very popular Local Authority school just outside the center of the City of Birmingham. Anglesey Primary School is a thriving and successful school. At Anglesey, we value the contribution each child brings and we encourage them to develop as individuals within a strong community. We offer a broad, balanced curriculum that is delivered by a dedicated staff team who use innovative ideas to inspire the children’s learning. At Anglesey Primary School our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning and provide an environment that prepares our pupils as confident, successful, and happy citizens. Anglesey Primary School has high expectations and supports every child to be the very best they can be in their learning and behavior. We provide a wide and varied curriculum that enables every child to grow, develop and exceed their potential in a safe, nurturing, positive environment, before the transition to secondary school. The school is an active member of the local community and children are proud ambassadors for the school and its values when attending curriculum visits, fixtures, and events. Teaching and support staff are committed to professional development and the school’s values and child-centered ethos. The creative arts are embedded in school life. As stated in our SEN information we have an open-door policy where we will discuss with the parent/carer, the child’s class teacher, and/or the Inclusion manager the parent’s concerns. If the parent feels this has not resolved the issue, then it can be raised with the Head Teacher, SEN governor, or Chair of governors who would be available to help resolve the situation. We would also involve other relevant professionals where they may be of help and have worked with other agencies such as Parent Partnership to enable problems to be resolved in the past. At Anglesey Primary we believe that it is every child’s right to be offered a Physical Education that is challenging, fun, and competitive. Therefore we offer every child 2 hours of curriculum time PE in the autumn and spring terms and the summer, an additional hour is added for swimming, making 3 hours of curriculum time PE. The children are offered a wide range of sport in curriculum time including dance, gymnastics, hockey, Outdoor and Adventurous Activities (OAA), cricket, rugby, football, athletics, swimming, netball, and basketball.
