Our mission of “Excellence for All” encapsulates our determination to provide an outstanding education for every child, regardless of ability, background, or culture. At Allfarthing we want to instill a love of learning that will enable children to achieve their very best, intellectually, creatively, socially, and physically. Our curriculum is designed to provide the challenge, interest, and excitement that children need to stimulate and motivate them to learn. Allfarthing is a school where everyone feels included and respected. Expectations are high with pride in our achievements and those of others. Health and happiness are nurtured. A love of learning is encouraged as we are always striving to improve. The key qualities and behaviors we develop in Allfarthing children will not only create a happy school with good relationships and effective learning but will prepare them for adult life. The British Values are Democracy, Rule of Law, Individual Liberty, Mutual respect for and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs and for those without faith. In all areas of the school curriculum, we want our children to become curious, independent, and resilient learners, who love coming to school. We aim to equip children with the skills they need for the twenty-first century. As well as good literacy and numeracy skills, they will need to be proficient with technology, able to get along with others, and be flexible and resilient enough to embrace change and challenge. Using the philosophy for children approach, we teach children to be creative and critical thinkers. We are committed to developing learners with high expectations and aspirations, thereby ensuring they are prepared for life, the next phase of their education, and ultimately the world of work. The school's motto 'Excellence for All' permeates every aspect of school life, both inside and outside the classroom. Our curriculum focuses on the core within Maths and English, whilst ensuring there is a broad and balanced curriculum where children are allowed to thrive across a range of subjects. We have a wide range of extra-curricular activities run internally or by external companies including sports, music, arts, computing, and cookery. We are constantly evolving and improving to make our school the best it can be this could take the form of meetings of staff in the school, children's voice through the school council which I take fortnightly or surveys sent to parents. We are a two-form entry school with a recently renovated reception outdoor learning space and a substantial playground with new facilities. A Partnership Between Home and School together, we can form a strong partnership that will help children to get the most out of life, now and in the future. As parents and carers, your encouragement and interest in your child’s school life will be vital to their progress. Your role involves supporting learning through regular reading, spelling, and, as children get older, homework. Parents need to ensure that children come to school on time, every day, apart from when they are unwell. Absence and lateness are disruptive to your child and others in their class and will affect your child’s level of achievement. You can discuss any problems your child may be having with your child’s teacher. If you continue to have concerns you can contact the phase leader, Deputy Head or Headteacher. At Allfarthing we will make every effort to ensure that school is a welcoming and stimulating environment in which all children can learn and parents feel included. We will teach a broad and balanced curriculum, which will be enriched by visits to places of interest and visiting experts. Your child’s progress will be monitored, assessed, and reported to parents each term at parent/teacher consultations, with a written report at the end of each school year. Children will be respected as individuals and helped to achieve their potential. Allfarthing recognizes all races, cultures, and religions and aims to empower children to feel secure in their background and to respect each other. Racism, bullying, and other anti-social behaviors are not tolerated and we follow our behavior policy.
