  1. In our increasingly competitive world, a high-quality education gives students a wider choice and better chances in college and university, as well as the skills and tools needed to succeed throughout their lives. Through the SABIS® system of education, students at AIS–Al-Sulaimaniah will learn with an efficiency of time and effort. AIS–Al-Sulaimaniah students will be helped to achieve their full potential. Practically any student can achieve this aim—not only brilliant students. Abdulaziz International Schools – Al-Sulaimaniah (AIS–Al-Sulaimaniah) first opened its doors in 1999. Today, the school has an enrollment of 3,640 students in Kindergarten through Grade 12. AIS–Al-Sulaimaniah is a member of the global SABIS® Network, established in 1886 with the opening of its first school. For over 131 years, schools in the SABIS® Network have been preparing students with the knowledge and skills required to help them achieve success in a changing world. Today, the SABIS® Network has an active presence in 20 countries on five continents and educates over 70,000 students. AIS–Al-Sulaimaniah will be recognized as a provider of top-quality education to a highly diverse student body. It will prepare all students for success in college, equip them with the ability and desire for lifelong learning, and strengthen their civil, ethical, and moral values. The school will maintain high standards of efficiency and accountability throughout its operation. Abdulaziz International Schools – Al-Sulaimaniah (AIS–Al-Sulaimaniah) is located in Sulaimaniah, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The purpose-built campus is divided into four sections: the Girls, Boys, Primary, and KG sections. The school encompasses several facilities including science and computer laboratories, sports facilities, and art rooms. A unique IT feature at the school is the computerized learning and testing center. The school has four libraries, five computer labs, eight science labs, five SABIS Integrated Testing and Learning® (ITL®) exam halls, and indoor & outdoor courts. It also has three cafeterias. At AIS–Al-Sulaimaniah, we consider the school as a dynamic production team. Administrators, teachers, and students are all contributors to this team. Knowledge and ideas are the product of collaborative efforts. Since students are the ones who benefit most directly from the product, they should be most concerned that the product is of high quality. Everyone in a SABIS® Network school has a job to do everyone is accountable. Administrators, students, and staff "self-audit" to discover and correct errors. It is teamwork that allows every team member to reach heights that would be more difficult to reach individually. The curriculum implemented at AIS–Al-Sulaimaniah is specifically designed by SABIS® to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to develop a solid academic foundation. This foundation will help students achieve their full potential and develop a love of lifelong learning. All courses at AIS–Al-Sulaimaniah are structured. A system of academic tracking— the SABIS® AMS, a computerized method of detecting gaps in knowledge— allows the administration to closely follow the progress of each individual. Gaps are pinpointed as soon as they form, and students' efforts are focused on eliminating them. Valuable time is saved and a gap-free, cohesive structure of knowledge is built in students' minds. All courses for students at all levels are structured to enable students and teachers to know precisely what should be learned. Teachers teach one concept at a time using the SABIS Point System® with each lesson alternating frequently between oral work, individual work, and group work in such a way that it is difficult for students to “switch off.” Students engage in regular assessment using exams that teachers do not see in advance. Everyone in the school is accountable. Accordingly, students learn more in class and have more time for relaxation and fun after school. Students who fall behind in their work are advised, motivated, helped, and coached until they catch up. As long as they manage their own time successfully, students' time is theirs, otherwise, help is given. Emphasizing a well-balanced body of knowledge, skills, and experiences, the curriculum at AIS–Al-Sulaimaniah specifies daily learning goals at all grade levels. In an atmosphere that fosters the development of a lifelong love of learning, students are shown how to study and given the support, they need to develop a solid academic foundation. Starting in Grade 3, courses at AIS–Al-Sulaimaniah specify a minimum number of "units of information" that students need to learn. This minimum includes the simple concepts tested by the SABIS® AMS, as well as Basic Questions which test the material that "everyone should know." In addition to this, AIS-Al Sulaimaniah courses from Grade 3 onwards include extended material for more able students. The comprehensive SABIS® curriculum allows AIS–Al-Sulaimaniah students to achieve more with less effort. Each year, graduates from SABIS® Network schools around the world gain entry to highly competitive universities in the U.K., U.S., Canada, Europe, Australia, and the Middle and the Far East. SABIS® Network schools pride themselves on the performance of their students at the most prestigious universities in the world including Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard, MIT, Princeton, and Stanford to name a few.
