Abercarn Primary School we aim to provide a firm foundation for our pupils through a broad, balanced, exciting and enjoyable education, whilst placing high emphasis on the basic skills of reading, writing and maths. We aim to provide high standards of teaching and learning at all times and a curriculum enriched with opportunities to ensure your child gains the skills needed for a very successful life in the 21st Century. It is our intention to create a very happy school where there is a sense of purpose and well-being, a place where children and adults are glad to be. We aim to develop a positive attitude to learning by consistently focusing on the child's strengths and achievements Communicating with parents will always be a priority of Abercarn Primary School as we know that children thrive when the home and school work together. This Prospectus is a comprehensive insight into all aspects of the school and conveys details about current school procedures. It is a first step to ensuring an effective and happy partnership continually exists. We strongly encourage parents to immediately share any concerns if they materialise in order for them to be resolved as quickly and effectively as possible. We would also encourage parents to share any successes with us, so both the home and school can share in the excitement together. Parents are valued partners at Abercarn Primary School. To help pupils to develop lively, enquiring minds, with an ability to question and argue rationally and apply themselves to tasks and physical skills. To help the school community appreciate human achievements and aspirations. Be inspired to achieve their best and be happy! To help the school community to use language and numbers effectively. To help pupils to acquire the knowledge and skills relevant to adult life and future employment within a fast changing world. To instil respect for religious moral values and acceptance of other races, religions and ways of life.
