St. Dominic Savio Catholic High School is a co-educational college preparatory school founded by the Diocese of Austin to prepare young men and women to become faith-filled, visionary, and inspirational leaders in service to the Church and the world. St. Dominic Savio Catholic High School expresses the Church'sChurch's educational mission through faith formation, social development and awareness, and a robust academic program. We seek:

    • To develop within the school a strong Theology program based on Catholic teachings, Scripture, liturgical experiences, and service so that each student will grow and develop in the Catholic Christian way of life
    • To facilitate the spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development of each student
    • To challenge students to become Christian leaders, living as young men and women of conscience, compassion, and action

The life of faith at St. Dominic Savio is central to our mission and our student experience. As a Catholic school, our mission includes "inviting young people to a relationship with Jesus Christ or deepening an existing relationship with Jesus, inserting young people into the life of the Church, and assisting young people to see and understand the role of faith in one'sone's ly life and in the larger society." At St. Dominic Savio, we strive to accomplish this by focusing on student-led ministry, building a culture of Christian Service, living a vibrant sacramental life, and through a rigorous but inviting theology curriculum.

St. Dominic Savio has only one course of study, college preparatory - and all students meet the qualifications for a distinguished diploma. To provide a quality educational experience, the school provides a wide variety of academic courses that meet diverse student interests. Accelerated students may qualify for Pre-AP and AP courses in the subject areas of science, social science, English, mathematics, art, and computer science. As students advance through their academic career, they can choose to concentrate on different study areas, either in the STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), Fine Arts, or the Humanities. The different course offerings allow us to tailor our curriculum to the abilities and interests of our students.

St. Dominic Savio offers Advanced Placement (AP) classes in a variety of subjects. The Advanced Placement program was first offered in the United States to bring challenging courses into high schools. These classes are introductory college-level courses taught by certified high school teachers whose curriculum has been approved by College Board. An examination follows all courses in May. Students who successfully pass the class and exam can receive college credit. The AP Program is run by the College Board, a non-profit membership organization representing more than 6,000 colleges, universities, and schools committed to excellence and equity in education. Their mission is to connect students to college success and opportunity.

Our mission at St. Dominic Savio is to "prepare young men and women to become faith-filled, visionary, and inspirational leaders in service to the Church and the world." Christ'sChrist's sacrifice on the cross is our model of making the right decisions, treating one another with love and respect, and serving those in need. More than this, we recognize that Christ is the source of strength and grace for all those created in His image and likeness. Christ is the perfect human who perfects our humanity. Our vision for our school is "Forming Servant Leaders in the Image of Christ." To truly live as a Servant Leader with the heart of Christ is the goal of our students, faculty, and staff to strive for each day. We believe that: With prayerful consideration and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, a Servant Leader recognizes and fulfills needs lovingly and selflessly and motivates others to act as well.

All faculty and staff at the school participate in this work of formation, and the FAM offers resources and support for this work in various ways. It is ultimately Christ, the potter, who draws out the potential formed in us at the moment of our creation, shaping us into his image through a loving relationship. Therefore, we seek to participate in this formative work of God by offering holistic opportunities for growth and development across the academic and extracurricular spectrum.
