San Marcos Academy is a fully accredited coeducational Christian school for boarding students in grades 6-12 and day students in grades K-12. Our college preparatory curriculum is designed to engage and inspire students, preparing them for college and life success. Located in the beautiful hill country, our boarding school in Texas has a diverse population of students worldwide, across the United States, and all over Texas. Since 1907, San Marcos Academy has provided a tradition of excellence in private school education.
In 1908, the first graduating class of SMA, the Class of 1909, began classes on our original campus on Academy Street. We are now more than halfway through the 2019-20 school year, in which the 112th class, the Class of 2020, will complete their Upper School experience and receive their diplomas. Even more extraordinary, we are watching the 125th class, the Class of 2033, finish the first year of their educational careers in Kindergarten.
San Marcos Academy is settled within the Texas Hill Country's beautiful hills, just outside of San Marcos. Our 220-acre campus allows us the opportunity to educate students, giving them a competitive edge as they move into career opportunities or enroll in University higher education. Above all, our Christian heritage encourages our students in their faith as we become the shining light on a hill, not just in Texas but in the world.
For more than a century, San Marcos Academy has educated students from around the world. Both our Boarding and Day programs are designed to provide a strong academic foundation built on excellence and equip our students with the values and virtues that enable them to become upstanding citizens.
