Since 1885, Saint Thomas Academy has developed leaders guided by an honorable moral compass. Our Catholic foundation, ongoing campus ministry activities, service learning opportunities, and academic requirements in theology and community service will shape your son’s character and beliefs. This, combined with our military leadership curriculum and applied leadership opportunities within the Corps of Cadets, fosters teamwork, mentorship, and servant leadership among all cadets.
Throughout our history, the cadets of Saint Thomas Academy have been well-served by the foundation that is unique to the Academy: all-boys, Catholic, college prep, and military leadership. Saint Thomas Academy boasts a 10:1 student-faculty ratio and small class sizes, allowing faculty time to work with your son individually, ensuring he is encouraged and challenged academically. Each week, faculty have scheduled tutoring hours after the regular school day and before after-school activities begin when they can help students who may have a simple question or need personalized instruction.
Our manageable size means everyone at the Academy takes an interest in your son’s development. We all embrace our mission of developing boys into young men of character and know this is best realized in partnership with each other, with the boys, and with parents.
The Academy’s unique all-male environment fosters an inimitable bond of brotherhood. And yet, your son will have ample opportunity to explore his individual interests through coursework and co-curricular activities, such as the world-renowned Experimental Vehicle Team, top-ranked athletics, or the prestigious Model UN.
We will ask a lot academically of your son and provide the support he needs to succeed. Our dedicated faculty are passionate about teaching boys and have tailored their courses to the ways boys learn best. They will help your son develop the skills he needs for college and beyond through hands-on applications, interactive exercises, and creative instruction. Because of our small class sizes, faculty can devote themselves to one-on-one support if your son should need it.
For more than 130 years, the Saint Thomas Academy community of students, parents, faculty, and alumni has prepared young men to succeed in college and life in an environment shaped by the message of Jesus Christ. Saint Thomas Academy’s tradition, discipline, and spirit influence the life of a young man long after graduation.
Our mission – to develop boys into men of character – is our promise to our students, our families, our community, and the world. We accomplish this through the transformative power of an educational and life experience deeply rooted in Catholic faith and traditions, academic excellence, military leadership, and an all-male environment.
Students at Saint Thomas Academy immerse themselves in their studies with great energy and extreme focus. From the beginning of the day until the evening hours, our classrooms, hallways, labs, and learning center buzz with discussion, experiment, and learning. In our curriculum, your son will learn broad genres of literature and writing, develop skills in basic algebra to calculus, and further his understanding of religion. At Saint Thomas Academy, every boy is pushed to reach his full potential and find his passion.
The work of creating a community of inclusion that respects individuals is an essential element of the Saint Thomas Academy mission and its values. Diversity activities often challenge assumptions, habits, and long-held beliefs and habits, and they ask all groups to recognize their similarities and celebrate their differences. Saint Thomas Academy is committed to fostering diversity in its student body, faculty, and staff, as a core value of the school community.
Saint Thomas Academy encourages respect for individuality and believes in the importance of community. Therefore, Saint Thomas Academy calls students to standards of academic achievement, behavior, and dress that are conducive to self-discipline, respect for others, and sound moral conduct.
