Rutgers Prep has a global outlook. Our families speak more than 50 languages and come from over 90 zip codes and twelve countries, and our alumni now live and work all over the world. We come from everywhere, and we can go anywhere.
Rutgers Prep is and has always been a community where people are the priority. The members of our school place a premium on achievement, involvement, and fun. With students ranging from Pre-Kindergarten to Seniors in High School, our family supports each other, and together we learn, and we succeed. The value of a Rutgers Prep education is powerful because the student develops within a community of peers, sharing aspirations and developing skills and experiences that translate into successful futures. The result is an extraordinary journey with endless destinations.
Our recent Accreditation Report commended us for "creating a learning community and enviable culture of mutual respect and affection where Rutgers Preparatory students celebrate their differences rather than simply tolerating them and view their differences as a welcome source of profound enrichment. More than just a friendly independent school community, Rutgers Preparatory students are fundamentally kind to each other. They perceive each other as sources of instruction and inspiration, regardless of their backgrounds and perspectives. There is no evidence of a proverbial 'cool crowd' or student cliques invariably present in every teenage community.
There is a palpable atmosphere felt as soon as one steps on the campus. People are friendly. They smile, say hello, hold the door; they look at a visitor in the eye to make contact with the soul that resides within. Rutgers Preparatory School is commended for its accomplishments in developing a robust, equitable, just, and inclusive community that inspires students to respect others and value diversity. Rutgers Prep serves as an exceptional model of the school community to all NJAIS schools and all schools in general."
By the very nature of independence, Independent Schools like Rutgers Prep elect to create their mission and their culture. Ours is a mission to inspire students, a culture of achievement, and a proven track record of college preparation since 1766.
Rutgers Prep provides a positive value of self where our students are training to be tomorrow's leaders. Within a climate of trust, safety, and support, our students embrace intellectual curiosity and creativity in a coeducational college prep school serving over 600 students from ages three to twelve. We are a community that reflects the real and genuine diversity of our modern world. Our students are elite, but our community is inclusive. Rutgers Prep is small enough to recognize and value every student but large enough to offer an extraordinary academic challenge range.
The Rutgers Prep Innovation Program is a yearlong, in-depth exploration of creative problem-solving and collaborative learning. Students in 8th to 12th grades will embark on their choice of nine different programs, led by expert faculty with the additional support of local professionals and enthusiastic alumni. Our goal is to extend the learning our students have traditionally achieved in our classrooms to real-world applications. Our teachers have developed exciting and memorable opportunities to encourage Rutgers Prep students to follow their passions and even discover new ones.
Whether it's in Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, or Reality Reality, Rutgers Prep is dedicated to providing students and faculty a fully integrated array of digital resources to encourage learning and enhance teaching. Members of the faculty take great advantage of Virtual Reality headsets, Augmented Reality apps, MakerBot 3D-Printers, iPads, and laptop computers to extend collaboration in the classroom. Besides, from Kindergarten through Twelfth Grade, every classroom is equipped with projectors and Apple TVs, which allow our faculty to share digital resources with their students. Whether it is a digital presentation or an interactive exercise, instruction, and learning are enhanced by integrating digital and projection technology.
