Founded in 1996, Episcopal Collegiate is one of the nation's finest independent, co-educational, college preparatory day schools. We have earned this reputation because we believe in the power of a promise. We see it in our students, ages three through grade 12, in our Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools. We see it on our campus, nestled on 34 acres near downtown Little Rock, within sight of the historic state capitol. And we see it in you. Episcopal Collegiate is known for outstanding academics, passionate teachers, and a robust Episcopal tradition, but there is more to us than that— we promise.

As a PK-3 through 12th-grade School, we offer a unique opportunity for students and families of all ages and walks of life to experience the difference an Episcopal Collegiate education can make.

It is an investment that holds promise — a promise that opens a world of possibilities for your child. This promise allows every child to be surrounded by caring adults who know them well and are committed to their personal growth, a promise that prepares each child for success in college and the world beyond.

We take our mission seriously. Without a doubt, we are dedicated to the pursuit of academic excellence. We are known for this but offer so much more. We affirm the importance of our faith in God and understand the transformative power of competitive athletics and performing and visual arts. We nurture joy in learning and help students discover and pursue their passions. We hold students to high standards and work hard to understand how best to equip them to meet them. We believe in personal responsibility and provide developmentally appropriate levels of support, encouragement, accountability, and grace. We not only provide students opportunities to lead, but we intentionally focus on developing their leadership skills. We serve our community, but we strive to do so in ways that impact our students as much as those they are serving.

We are a community. Our classrooms, courts, playing fields, and studios are filled with creative and dedicated teachers, students, and parents who embrace the challenges of living out our mission. We expect a lot of ourselves but embrace setbacks and mistakes as opportunities to grow.

Our belief bounds us together in every human being's dignity and worth and the respect they deserve. Our belief in honor bounds us. Our love of this School bounds us. Our belief bounds us in the promise of our students and our commitment to them.

Episcopal Collegiate School prepares students to live principled and fulfilling lives of leadership and service by pursuing academic and personal excellence in a challenging and supportive environment. Rooted in the Episcopal tradition and affirming people of all faiths, Episcopal Collegiate strives to develop in its students a respect for all persons, a reverence of God, and a sense of moral responsibility.

Through a vibrant student body rich in diversity, students learn to live and honor the School's core values of Respect, Reverence, and Responsibility and are inspired to carry those values beyond the School community into their futures. Through the pursuit of excellence in academics, fine arts, and athletics, students develop the skills and understandings essential to leadership, service, and success:

    • Depth of knowledge in the arts, sciences, and humanities
    • Strong skills of analysis and expression
    • Critical, creative, and independent thinking
    • Intellectual curiosity and joy in learning
    • Cultural competencies and global understandings
    • Strength of body, mind, and character
    • Discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship
    • Self-awareness and self-efficacy

Many schools can offer a challenging class or a tough assignment. At Episcopal Collegiate, our goal is to find out what you are good at and challenge you to fulfill your unique promise. We are known for our small classes, highly qualified teachers, and rigorous academics. But rigor alone is not our goal. We believe in the power and promise of intellectual curiosity—a deep, persistent desire to know.

Episcopal Collegiate School views technology as an instrument to increase student learning and weave its use into the daily classroom routine seamlessly. We are committed to providing an environment that recognizes the shifts in literacy, information, learning, and innovation and brings all learners' up-to-date access and resources. Students in grades PreK-Kindergarten have access to iPad carts. Students in grades 1 and 2 have access to grade-level Chromebook carts. Our students in grades 3-8 are provided with their Chromebooks, and our students in grades 9-12 are part of our BYOD program.

Additionally, we have a Discovery Lab for Early Childhood, Design Labs for Lower School and Middle School, and a Communication Studio for Middle and Upper School students. Our Exploratory Design Program focuses on design thinking and helps students empathize, design, create, revise, and produce. Our commitment is based on our understanding that technology will continue to be an integral part of educating every student.
