St. Peter's is a friendly school that is situated on two sites. We are often described as having a peaceful village atmosphere and parts of our Junior building date back to 1837. We have a strong Christian tradition and ethos and have close links with St. Peter's Church and the Diocese of Birmingham. Our school motto is: Through the teachings of God we Love Others Value Everyone.

St. Peter's prides itself on its warm, caring environment and the supportive partnership it forges with parents. We value each child as a unique individual and ensure there is a range of opportunities provided for their academic and personal development. Our school ethos at St. Peter's CE Primary School underpins everything we do. St. Peter’s religious character stems from its historic church foundation which is following the principles of the Church of England.

St Peters serves its multi-faith community within the context of Christian belief and practice. We encourage and promote Christian values through the experience we offer to all of our children and this is summed up in our school mission statement: At St. Peter’s CE school we aim to create a Christian community whereby we live in harmony before God and provide a warm, safe and caring environment in which to learn and grow.

At St. Peter’s, we believe in creating a stimulating environment that allows children to learn in a way that motivates and interests them through inspirational learning activities and high-quality teaching. Our creative curriculum at St Peter’s revolves around the Cornerstones Curriculum. The Cornerstones Curriculum has developed support materials for schools to provide a variety of Imaginative Learning Projects. Each project is split into sections, which see children progress through four stages of learning: Engage, Develop, Innovate, Express.

    Aims:

    • To nurture and develop well-rounded positive, responsible, and caring individuals.
    • To make learning fun and give children opportunities to develop their knowledge and skills to achieve their full potential.
    • To enable children to work cooperatively with others, develop their independence, and foster their creativity.

To achieve the above we need to ensure children:

    • Have firm foundations of basic skills which they can use and apply.
    • Have a broad range of exciting and creative opportunities to discover and nurture their talents.
    • Develop a set of core Christian values.
    • Have access and opportunity to achieve their full potential, whilst developing their sense of uniqueness, confidence, and self-worth.
    • Develop their awareness of caring for their surrounding environment and the wider world.
    • Appreciate and value the contributions made by all ethnic groups in our multi-cultural society
