We offer a high-quality, broad, and balanced curriculum in a Catholic setting. We recognize the uniqueness of every child and provide opportunities for each one to develop a full range of skills.
We place a very strong emphasis on personalized learning and we are proud of our caring and inclusive ethos and the very happy environment in which our children learn. As a result of these things, our children not only achieve very good standards, but they also develop the personal skills needed to become happy and fulfilled individuals.
At St. Paul’s Catholic Primary School, the teachings of Jesus Christ are at the very center of the daily lives of the community we serve. The Catholic Faith is not only taught but also nurtured and reflected in the daily life of the school. The reception class is known as the ‘Foundation Stage’ and is a unique curriculum. It begins at a child’s birth and follows the child’s development through the nursery to the last stage, the Reception class.
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) sets the standards to ensure that children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe. It promotes learning to ensure children’s ‘school readiness and gives children the broad range of knowledge and skills that provide the right foundation for good future progress through school and life.
The curriculum is at the heart of everything we do in our busy learning environment. At St Paul’s, we continually strive to challenge our children to achieve their full potential and we believe that a broad, balanced curriculum with rigorous standards is central to this.
As a Catholic School, we attach the greatest importance to Religious Education in the life of our School. This not only applies to specific RE lessons but in the everyday interaction of school life, assemblies, meal times, playtimes, and all the relationships that exist within St. Paul’s. We try to help children to find a personal faith in God and to enjoy a sense of awe and wonder at His creation. We teach tolerance and respect for other faiths, races, and cultures. Fr. Perry, our Parish Priest, takes an active interest in the school and its religious life. Mass and liturgies are celebrated in the school each term. The school celebrates an act of collective worship each day, in-class groups, or as a whole school.
Every child is a unique child, who is constantly learning and can be resilient, capable, confident, and self-assured.

Communication and language development involves giving children opportunities to experience a rich language environment to develop their confidence and skills in expressing themselves and to speak and listen in a range of situations.
Physical development involves providing opportunities for young children to be active and interactive and to develop their coordination, control, and movement. Children must also be helped to understand the importance of physical activity and to make healthy choices about food.
Personal, social, and emotional development involves helping children to develop a positive sense of themselves, and others to form positive relationships and develop respect for others to develop social skills and learn how to manage their feelings to understand appropriate behavior in groups and to have confidence in their abilities.
Understanding the world involves guiding children to make sense of their physical world and their community through opportunities to explore, observe and find out about people, places, technology, and the environment.
