A Curriculum for Excellence provides schools with a unified set of purposes and principles for the whole curriculum, throughout the early years, primary school, and secondary school. It is based on skills and outcomes. such as skills for learning, skills for work, and skills for life. The program aims to improve the quality of learning, attainment, and achievement of children and young people in Scotland. It is also about ensuring that pupils achieve on a broad front rather than simply in terms of examinations and develop a range of skills and abilities relevant to growing, living, and working in the modern world. Through A Curriculum for Excellence, pupils will enjoy greater choice and opportunity to help them realize individual talents.
We aim to assist our pupils to integrate their learning. For example, reading is a component of language, but the ability to read is vital to other areas of learning, in school and everyday life.
