We are a Church of England Primary School in The Diocese of Southwark, where the Christian Ethos is at the heart of all that we achieve. St Jude’s Church of England Primary School exists to serve its community by providing education of the highest quality within a Christian framework of values and beliefs.
We help children to achieve their full potential by fostering a sense of belonging, encouraging their determination, faith, respect, and love for each other, and teaching them the importance of being honest, selfless, and thankful.
Staff at St. Jude’s are given everything they need to be the best they can. We have pride and energy because our workload is manageable and intelligently managed. We support each other, celebrate our achievements, and feel valued.
Our strong leadership team ensures our staff is valued and equipped to do a brilliant job. We encourage honest, reflective communication to keep us improving. Because we are a small friendly school, children can develop a strong sense of belonging within our special community.
Our curriculum is exciting and aspirational. It provides children with the opportunity to explore, enquire and reflect. Learners are challenged and supported throughout their learning journey and encouraged to complete mastery challenges. We have a broad and creative curriculum which is reflected in our half-termly topics.
Children not only flourish academically but also through creative arts, music, and sport. Our aim is for our children to demonstrate resilience, confidence, and kindness and live out our Christian Values everywhere they go.
At St Jude’s School, we plan to learn to be creative and exciting to meet the needs of all of the children. Topics are carefully planned to cover the New National Curriculum and always include trips and visits to inspire the children throughout their learning. Topics include “The circus is coming to town”, “Invaders” and “Chocoholics”. Children work in a variety of ways, as a class, in groups, pairs, or individually.
The emphasis is always on the active and meaningful involvement of children in their learning. Support is provided for pupils who experience difficulties and to extend those who are ready for more challenges. All classes are well supported with a teaching assistant or higher level teaching assistant who works collaboratively with the class teacher to ensure children make excellent progress.
