Welcome to our school. We are a very happy and friendly school where expectations are high for every child to reach their full potential through challenging, engaging, and motivating lessons. We were last inspected in November 2017 and were judged to be GOOD in all areas. As the Lead Inspector said, “Pupils come into school with smiles on their faces. This is because they see it as a calm, haven where they feel valued as individuals.”
Our Mission at St Charles’ Catholic Primary School is to "Love, Learn, Grow Together". Aims:

To live as Jesus taught us, as a loving school community where all love God and one another, demonstrated through Collective Worship, prayer, assemblies, and RE celebrations which show everyone as equal. The parish and school working hand-in-hand. The needs of learners being recognized, accepted, and supported. Everyone is accepted and respected as unique individuals, made in the image and likeness of God.
To instill a love of learning in a caring, Catholic environment that enables all to develop to their full potential, through High expectations of all. Developing links with the parish and local communities, helping those less fortunate than ourselves in charity work. Looking after God’s world and everyone in it, equally. Preparing for future challenges by teaching and learning life skills, including self-responsibility, and an understanding of choices and consequences. Taking on responsibilities in school as prefects, School Councillors, and buddies, and learning about responsibility and leadership.
British values are promoted and woven into much of what we do at St. Charles’, for example, through school assemblies, the ‘Come and See’ religious education program, and social and emotional aspects of learning.

As a Catholic school, we teach religious education through the ‘Come and See‘ religious education program recommended by, with support and guidance from, the Liverpool Archdiocese Christian Education Department. Themes are taught across the school through a range of topics, each with the focus on one of three themes: Christian Living, Church, or Sacraments.
The process for delivering the topics in ‘Come and See’ has three stages – Explore, Reveal and Respond which enable pupils to develop knowledge, understanding, skills, and attitudes. The process encompasses a variety of teaching and learning styles, which enable the needs of individual pupils to be met.
The program also requires us to teach the children about other world faiths or religions: Judaism, Hinduism, Islam, and Sikhism, which we do in Autumn and Summer terms.
