In our school, we aim to create a happy, caring, and stimulating learning environment where children can begin to take their first steps towards growing independence and learning how to learn. We seek to build upon the experiences each child brings from home.

All staff at Newnham, both teaching and support staff work as a team. We are committed to the development of each child as an individual. We aim to encourage children to work to the best of their abilities and realize their full potential in all aspects of learning and development social, emotional, physical, intellectual, spiritual, and moral.

The school fulfills the statutory duty placed on schools by The Race Relations (Amendment) Act 2000, promoting good race relations and racial equality and all aspects of the Equality Act 2010.

We believe that everyone is special and we can all learn from one another. It is our sincere hope that by working together as a partnership of staff, parents and governors we will ensure that the children have the best opportunities for progress and will aspire to our high expectations. This will provide a deep and firm foundation for the whole of their school life and beyond.

    Our vision is to create:

    • A welcoming and inclusive school where everyone is motivated to learn, achieve and enjoy themselves
    • A forward-thinking school where each child is challenged and unique qualities are valued
    • A safe and secure learning environment that meets the diverse needs of all the children and families in our community

The outcomes of achieving our vision will be:

    • Independent, confident children who have an enthusiasm for learning leading to high standards of achievement
    • Parents who are secure in the knowledge that their children are making very good progress
    • Children, parents, and all stakeholders feeling part of a safe and secure school community
