Laurel Lane, a co-educational primary school and nursery for children aged from three to eleven years. Part of the Frays Academy Trust, we enjoy not only shared resources and expertise with our partner schools but also the freedom to control our budget and adapt our curriculum to serve the best interests of our pupils.
Through a combination of high standards, engaging activities, and a caring ethos, we strive to provide children with a well-rounded education that will be a springboard to future success. We help our pupils to discover their potential, nurturing their talents and thereby developing a love of learning that will benefit them throughout their lives. We take pride in being a welcoming community in which our diversity is celebrated and every child feels valued.
At Laurel Lane Primary School, we are proud to be an inclusive school. We provide high-quality, creative, and challenging education within a secure, caring, and happy environment, where every child experiences a sense of enjoyment and is encouraged to achieve their full potential through a love of learning.
Every child will be allowed to flourish in a healthy, safe, and secure environment and to have their skills, talents and spiritual development nourished so that they bloom and prosper. The School will enable all pupils to achieve and develop the skills, knowledge, and understanding necessary for Secondary Education and beyond. The School will inspire excellence through high-quality leadership, good and outstanding teaching as well as a highly creative curriculum. The learning culture within the school will inspire children to succeed academically and encourage pupils to aspire to reach their full potential.
At the foundation of our vision is a commitment to providing the highest quality, individualized, professional development for staff. The School will invoke high-quality leaders of learning to provide an enriched curriculum for our pupils of today and tomorrow.
Laurel Lane is a warm welcoming and supportive school where a great emphasis is placed on all-around personal development, as well as academic progress. We strive to develop strong links with the community. We have a close relationship with the Parish Church of St Martin’s, Church Road. Both the school and church serve the same community and efforts are made to foster the relationship between both.
We also believe that education is a lifelong process and that whatever children learn at Laurel Lane will form the building blocks for the rest of their lives. We have built a relevant and carefully constructed curriculum, which takes into account the national requirements and the needs of our community and enables all children to develop, providing opportunities for them to achieve high standards.
Laurel Lane is part of the LDBS Frays Academy Trust along with two local Church of England Primary Schools: St Matthews C.E. Primary School and Cowley St Laurence C.E. Primary School. As part of the Academy, we can develop high-quality teaching and learning to give all our children the best possible opportunities in their primary education. We are committed, as part of the vision of the LDBS Frays Academy Trust, that all children should reach their potential and achieve standards at least in line, and hopefully above national expectations.
Laurel Lane Nursery is part of Laurel Lane Primary School and the school values and ethos is continued into Laurel Lane Nursery. We believe that the year that pupils spend in the Nursery is very important and is the start of the children’s journey in education. The curriculum is designed to enable all children to develop, providing them opportunities to achieve high standards.
