We aim for our children to learn in a happy, stimulating environment created by caring and dedicated staff. We promote a forward-thinking staff aiming for continuous school improvement.

We value every member of our school community, be it, family, pupils, friends, staff, and governors. The school has a committed, forward-thinking, energetic team who work relentlessly to ensure ours is a highly effective school, where all children receive the best education possible. We want our children to flourish and leave Hillside, not only having received the best education we can provide but also as well-rounded students, ready to take on the next stage of their academic career. We pride ourselves on accepting that each child is unique, and we strive to provide a creative and enriched curriculum that adapts to our diverse and celebrated community. A restorative school takes a restorative approach to resolving conflict and preventing harm.'

At Hillside, we use Restorative Practice as a way of building our school community.

    • We aim to promote positive relationships in a patient and supportive environment.
    • Enable our children to be emotionally literate.
    • To empower our children to make positive life choices and allow them to make mistakes and reflect on the outcomes.
    • To support our children and their families to communicate effectively and enjoy a positive school and home life.
    • To create a respectful and engaging environment that inspires and motivates lifelong learning.

Hillside Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We are fully committed to ensuring that consistent, effective safeguarding procedures are in place to support families, children, and staff at school.

Child Protection is a part of Safeguarding and promoting welfare. It refers to the activity that is undertaken to protect specific children who are suffering, or are likely to suffer, significant harm. Effective child protection is essential as part of wider work to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. However, all agencies and individuals should aim to proactively safeguard and promote the welfare of children so that the need for action to protect children from harm is reduced.
