We have been educating girls for over 100 years, and I'd like to think that we are experts and understand our students inside and out. We are dedicated to providing an all-round education that brings out the best in every pupil - intellectually, creatively, physically, and morally, and our small size is our greatest strength in this respect.
It is this focus on our girls as individuals which sets us apart and helps us prepare the students for an exciting future.
The jobs and careers that our girls will go on to may not even exist yet. The skills of resilience, communication, understanding, and teamwork that we develop throughout their years in school will be of even greater importance as they go forward into an ever-changing workplace.
The achievements of all our girls (and boys in the Pre-Prep) make me proud every single day - whether it's a student who wins a medal on a global stage or one who has overcome a particular challenge.
Bruton School for Girls is a school for the real world, where through a broad and balanced curriculum and excellent pastoral care and support, we prepare girls for life beyond education. Our girls leave us equipped with inner strength, resilience, and outer confidence ready to take on new challenges and navigate life's ups and downs. Our aim is that the girls receive an education for life and the tools to live their best possible lives.
We create, for every girl, an environment with the space to inspire, challenge, encourage and support her to develop her full potential to become the amazing person she can be in this fast-changing world, with friends for life. Each individual is encouraged to develop intellectual curiosity, self-esteem, confidence without arrogance, respect and care for others, independence, excellence in all she does, and a love of life.
We aim to continually develop our focus on bringing out the best in each girl, enabling her to unlock her great potential.
On a day-to-day basis, it means that girls can simply be themselves. They gain experience of holding positions of responsibility throughout school and are used to seeing women as leaders, so they carry this expectation forward with them. We understand girls - their complexities and their anxieties - and our caring and supportive environment allow them the freedom to express themselves, find and use their voice, and be heard.
