As a community school, Broadgreen embraces all pupils regardless of denomination, race, or religion. Liverpool's agreed syllabus has been implemented and adapted by the RE department to make lessons enjoyable, interesting, and relevant. All major world religions are covered at Key Stage 3 or 4.
We have pathways that will stretch the most academic and pathways that will meet the needs of those students who require additional support. At Key stage 4, the curriculum is a mixture of core subjects (English, Maths, and Science) alongside Option Pathways. The curriculum is good. In the key stage, 3 courses are especially effective in laying foundations for later learning.
Broadgreen International School Sixth Form provides a wide range of academic choices to enable every student to study the right combination of subjects and qualifications to suit their future aspirations. We offer a holistic approach to education and aim to provide students with not only excellent international academic qualifications but also a wealth of experiences that aim to develop self-confidence and resilience to be independent and take the challenges that life will bring.
Broadgreen International School is proud to provide a unique program of study in our delivery of the International Baccalaureate. Our students can follow the IB Diploma Programme and the IB Career-Related Programme. Both pathways offer a highly respected program of international education that develops intellectual, personal, emotional, and social skills needed to live, learn and work in a rapidly globalizing world and we are extremely proud of our IB World School status. The IB encourages our students to play a fully active role within our wider school and community. The combination of academic and enrichment activities equips our students with all the skills that they need to acquire university places, apprenticeships, or employment and we are impressed by their level of success.
Broadgreen Sixth Formers enjoy their environment, which includes their common rooms and study facilities however, this does not mean they are isolated from the rest of the school. Our Sixth Form students are role models. They are involved in assisting staff in school events, in supporting tutors lower down the school, in running extra-curricular activities, and making regular contact with our feeder primary schools when helping the delivery of the Happy Hour program.
The Sixth Form has a very positive and definite sense of community. The young people who form it grow in maturity and independence, with the support and encouragement of the subject and pastoral staff. They enjoy the privileges and freedom of being a Sixth Former and also benefit from the regular tutoring and guidance from the staff. They leave us not only well-qualified but also as mature and rounded individuals with the skills to succeed.
The vision of Broadgreen International School is to develop students who are independent, responsible, and productive global citizens. Our International School ethos permeates the whole school. As well as being an IB World School, we are proud to have achieved the full International School Award which recognizes Broadgreen as a school that integrates global issues and international awareness into the curriculum.
