At Blair Peach Primary School we aim to provide outstanding teaching and learning for all our children. We seek to create an environment that is open, stimulating, safe, and caring. Blair Peach Primary is a place where everyone is valued as an individual, their views and heritage respected, and where children are at the center of all we do.
We inspire both academic and personal development by offering all children access to a range of opportunities that challenge and motivate them to become successful, confident, and caring citizens of our diverse and rapidly changing technological world.
Governors are appointed or elected for a 4-year term of office. They are a group of people who are responsible for all aspects of our school. They welcome any comments or suggestions and hear any concerns you may have. The governing body has established several committees and statutory panels. Our governing body meets together as a full governing body every half term.
The government is providing additional funding to provide new, substantial primary school sport funding to improve the provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools. This funding is provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport and will see money going directly to schools to be spent on improving the quality of sport and PE for all their children. This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on the provision of PE and sport in schools. We will be held accountable for how we have used the additional funding to support pupils' progress and participation in PE and school sport. We are required to publish online information about how we have used the additional funding, including details about our sporting provision alongside curriculum details. This will ensure that parents/carers and others are made fully aware of the PE and sporting provision at Blair Peach Primary school.
Our school values aim to equip pupils with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes they need to grow up and develop as citizens of our diverse community and country. Our values also provide a basis for engaging children with British values, which have been by the government as ‘democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.
We aim to develop pupils’ engagement with British values in an inclusive way. Our school is enriched by the diversity of different faiths and we want pupils to explore and appreciate the beliefs and values of different religions, and how these core values are shared by different traditions.
Blair Peach Primary is a UNICEF Rights Respecting School. Each year the children decide upon their class charter and the rights associated with these. All the children contribute to the drawing up of the charter. Children have many opportunities for their voices to be heard. We have an elected school council that meets regularly to discuss issues raised by pupils in the class. The council has access to a budget and can genuinely effect change within the school. The council members for each year group are voted in by their class. Children have an annual questionnaire with which they can put forward their views about the school. Children are taught about the United Nations Conventions on the Rights of the Child and learn to respect their rights and the rights of others.
