Manarat Al-Sharkia International School was established in 1981. It was the first English Medium school to be started in the Eastern Province. The majority of students were children of university teachers, physicians working in KFUH, and employees of ARAMCO. The first batch of students graduated in 1987. In 2004, the school changed ownership and was purchased by Ma’arif Education and Training Holding company. To date, this change in ownership has not affected the administration or name of the school.
One of Maarif for Education schools, offering high-quality educational services, with over 50 years of experience, while keeping pace with scientific developments in education supported by the latest systems of learning technologies to ensure the integrated construction of the personality of students within the framework of achieving our vision of helping students to realize the highest stages of creativity. With the support of qualified and trained working teams, the highest results and outputs have been achieved at the national and international levels, which have enabled the schools to obtain international accreditation and build partnerships with the largest national and international institutions. A robust partnership with parents is one of the strongest motivations for continuous development to support building the future of our students and preparing them to build their careers.
Maarif for Education and Training has achieved a matchless achievement in the region by obtaining academic accreditation as the first school educational system in the Middle East and the third outside the United States of America. This accomplishment represents pride for the country, leadership in the field of pre-university private education, and a key step to contributing to keeping up with the 2030 Vision. This accreditation comes after the visit of the huge external review team compromising 27 members of different nationalities around the world by Advanced that oversees the accreditation of more than 22,000 private schools and educational institutions spread in 72 countries around the world. The final evaluation visit continued for five consecutive days preceded by several visits throughout the whole year. The visits covered all Manarat Schools, Faisaliah, Nour Al Islam, and Green Hills schools in Riyadh, Medina, Jeddah, Khobar, and Dammam, Al-Asha, and Rabigh as well as all national and international Maarif schools.
With the accreditation of Maarif for Education and Training as an educational system, all schools owned, operated, or acquired by Maarif currently or in the future will be accredited by AdvancED. It is noteworthy that Maarif for Education and Training has 24,000 students in its schools in all phases of education from kindergarten through high school and provides a variety of learning tracks covering both the national and international curriculum (British and American). The vision of Maarif is to prepare creative students who contribute to the renaissance and strength of the country.
