In operation since 1994, we are a fully accredited North American Curriculum pre-kindergarten through grade 12 international school that predominantly caters to expatriate families. We pride ourselves on being globally minded and internationally diverse. This is reflected by a student population of over 52 nationalities.
M’KIS is licensed by the Ministry of Education, Malaysia, and certified by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency. We are accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), U.S.A, and authorized as an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. We believe in offering a challenging and stimulating curriculum with an international perspective that prepares children for the intellectual, societal, and global demands of the 21st Century.
The school boasts modern and purpose-built facilities for all programs, including areas for instruction in the English as an Additional Language (EAL) program and the enrichment center. Eight computer laboratories (4 fixed, 3 mobiles, and the research center in the Library Media Center) house the necessary hardware to fully integrate IT into the instructional day. Fully equipped science laboratories exist for earth science, chemistry, biology, physics, and physical science. The Arts Education program is fully supported via several general music rooms, a band room, three art rooms, a dance theatre plus a fully equipped ceramics room. The gymnasium is one of the centerpieces of the school and the physical education facilities come complete with two fields, a multipurpose hall, a second gymnasium, a well-equipped fitness center, a climbing wall, and a pool. Our 440 seat theatre houses all manner of artistic events for the entire school community. Student safety is a top priority for us. To that end, M'KIS has 24-hour security, provided by security personnel employed by the school.
The elementary school wing has 29 classrooms, three learning center classrooms, an art room, band room, choir room, two elementary music classrooms, gymnasium, three world language classrooms, one Malaysian studies classroom, two IT labs, library media center, elementary administration office, physical education office, and a student support services office.
The middle school wing houses 34 classrooms plus one computer lab and a science lab. The high school wing contains 15 classrooms, two IT labs, an art room, a ceramics room, and laboratories for earth science, chemistry, biology, physics, and physical science.
