At Julia International School, we keep the class numbers small to ensure that each student receives the individual attention that he or she deserves. Our experienced teachers guide students in exploring a wide variety of subjects. Students learn basic manners, develop an appreciation of international cultures, function in an English immersion environment, study French and learn computer skills. Students are also instructed in art, cooking, and music. In once-weekly Japanese classes, students deepen their understanding of the Japanese language and culture. At Julia school, we enjoy celebrating both Japanese and non-Japanese holidays.
Our diverse curriculum focuses on improving each child's ability to concentrate and on helping students to naturally develop solid language skills in a fun, friendly environment. We believe in providing students with kindergarten lessons that challenge them to use their imagination and think critically as they explore the world around them. It is in this way that we hope to encourage children living in Japan to reach their full potential.
Our preschool class begins with learning greetings and focuses on learning basic English through singing and various activities, like games and art and crafts. The children are introduced to their new school environment through play and exploration, allowing them to easily become confident with their surroundings.
The key factor to our preschool class is that the children are exposed to and learn English in a fun manner. In this class, we enjoy lots of exercises that focus on the acquisition of vocabulary, pronunciation skills, and letter/number recognition. We help the children to develop fine motor skills and practice holding and controlling writing implements. At Julia School, we take care to provide a comfortable, pressure-free environment by matching toilet training and the like to the individual developmental needs of each child.
Our kindergarten classes run from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm, Monday to Friday. We keep our class size small to ensure that each student can receive our fullest attention at all times and to help the students learn English in a comfortable, relaxed, and fun environment. Our class is 100% English.
Our classrooms are bright and colorful, full of English books and games and many interesting things are hidden around the classrooms to keep our students entertained and to help them learn to explore their surroundings.
Our week is divided into various subjects which focus on all aspects of learning, plus we have extra activities to help build your child`s world skills and to promote interest in extracurricular activities. We have reading and writing, phonics and pronunciation lessons, maths and music, social studies and science lessons, art and craft as well as French and Japanese lessons held once a week with a native speaker. Our extra lessons involve things like P.E., piano lessons, and show and tell time which is used to help our students with motor skills and to build their confidence. Besides lessons we also help our students with basic skills such as toilet, following instructions, listening, sitting, eating, sharing, playing, etc. Our teacher is a native English speaker with many, many years of experience teaching English as a second language to children all around Japan.
Our afterschool program runs from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm, Tuesday to Friday. These 90-minute lessons are specially designed to help students who have never spoken English before or are just starting, students who would like to improve their English skills, or those who would just like to have a fun time learning English in an all-English setting.
Our lessons involve set question time, phonics and pronunciation practice, reading, and writing plus there is always time for games that help build our students the confidence to speak English in front of others. These classes are always fun and you will be surprised at how much your child can improve.
English classes are designed for those students who already have an understanding of English. In these 60 minute lessons, we focus on grammar points, speaking, writing, and above all helping the students with what they want or need to learn for themselves and school. These classes are kept small so that each student gets our full attention so they can benefit from these lessons. Our French lessons are specially designed for students who are beginners or who have studied a little before and would like to improve their French. Our lessons involve set
