At Ivy Prep International School, we strive for the highest standards of academic excellence and focus on ensuring that each student receives the care and undivided attention they deserve to grow intellectually and socially. Our Value-Based Education with its original Skill-Based Curriculum is primarily based on the Cambridge Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and is inspired by the Reggio Emilia & Montessori approach along with Multilingual Immersion. It is extremely important to develop certain key skills, such as observation, cooperation, and critical thinking in children at an early age. The Primary/Afterschool (GAKUDO) Program is based on the IGCSE Program. Students in Key Stage one are introduced to foundations in Reading, Writing, Science, Mathematics, and Information and Communications Technology (ICT) through a system of practical applications, supported by a positive and stimulating learning environment.
While English is the primary language of instruction at Ivy Prep, we strive to equip our students with a multilingual and multicultural background by offering the following additional Modern Foreign Languages (MFL): English, Japanese, Mandarin, Arabic, Spanish.
To better assist families and their children in moving on to the next stage of schooling, ongoing assessment ensures that each child’s progress and development are continuously meeting the highest international standards. Children in an EYFS program learn by playing and exploring, being active, creative, and critical. In the early years, we focus on:

Making education hands-on is so critical. The more senses involved in education, the more it will help them remember what they are learning. When kids are building, creating, and exploring the learning matters to them! The experience that comes from hands-on projects brings the learning to life.

Kids are naturally curious, but often educational methods push that curiosity down. That's why it's crucial to let them a question, wonder, experiment and explore. It is through these methods that discoveries and inventions are made. Help kids understand why things happen the way they do.
A really important part of education is giving the kids some control. When they have control, they care more about it. They will take charge and be more willing to make things happen. Let them make some of the decisions about the projects they do and the way they do them.
Our Pre-K and Kindergarten Program utilizes the Cambridge EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) curriculum, infused with Montessori and Reggio Emilia approaches to help your child develop the necessary skills to succeed as he/she progresses through school, and in life.
