Villa Grimani International School was founded in 1998 by a group of parents who wished to offer their children the opportunity to attend a school providing excellent education in an open-minded and happy environment, with the daily program conducted in English, a recognized tool of international communication.
Our children also study Italian, which is taught by experienced mother-tongue Italian teachers. The school is situated in a magnificent ancient villa, dating from the 1400s. The school staff and of course the children bring modernity and life to this beautiful building. Villa Grimani International School is also a member of ECIS, European Council of International Schools.
Villa Grimani International School aims to offer a learning environment with the best cultural and educational opportunities. We intend to provide our pupils with the skills to ensure that they are flexible and able to adapt to and orient themselves in a variety of situations. We teach our pupils to take advantage of potential opportunities and we are aware that a child needs solid points of reference on which to build their own identity.
All teachers at Villa Grimani are fully qualified with teaching degrees and diplomas from British and American universities. They are all native English speakers. Italian lessons are taught by qualified native Italian teachers who have experience teaching in Italian and above all international schools. Our Chinese, German, Spanish and Russian teachers are all mother-tongue qualified teachers.
It is possible to enroll your child at Villa Grimani at any point during the academic year providing there are spaces available. Children are accepted from Italian, foreign and international schools. They may be asked to sit an entry test and meet with staff on a few occasions to gauge their level of English and to decide in which class they should be placed. Children entering with little or no English are given individual support from our support teachers in and out of the classroom. The educational philosophy at Villa Grimani International School is:
