Established in 1970, St. Peter’s School has grown and diversified throughout the years to include three programs of study: National Arabic, National English Language, and American Diploma. With an easily accessible location in the heart of Heliopolis, St. Peter's school has been providing quality college-preparatory education for the local community as well as neighboring areas. With forty years of educational experience behind it, St. Peter's School has a proven record of stability and quality that has led to the graduation and success of countless students over several decades.
As School Administrators, leaders, and teachers, our core mandate is to educate society through the school system. We are proud of the work we do, making difference in the lives of others, and for doing it in an environment that is recognized now as more different and difficult than before. We cover distances sometimes on foot, we cross big rivers but without life jackets and yet we work in a service where in-service training, refresher courses, and overall professional development of teachers are consistently subject to success. We intend to channel a lot of resources into professional development for our teaming membership.
We fully recognize that it takes a high level of professionalism to succeed as a school that provides Quality Education. The yearly training program organized for teachers will be improved upon and expanded. We will produce a quarterly periodical that will focus on professional development and modern methods of teaching. These will help members acquaint themselves with new ways of education delivery. As people who deliver education, St Peter’s New Administration has a responsibility to influence educational policy formulation and successful implementation. There have been many occasions where teachers have been left in the dark at the formulation stages of educational policies but we are charged to make the best out of them to provide our students with quality education.
As a Big entity, St Peter’s School continues to improve administratively and in terms of infrastructure to keep pace with modern trends of Education. We started some administrative reforms in our first year and we intend to follow them through in our coming years. We intend to make the School very close and more responsive to the needs of our students. Leadership will be handy to attend to the needs of Team members at all levels. And as All School Members share common interests, it is our vision to strengthen all forms of collaboration so that with unity in diversity we can work together to move education forward. We will also work hand in hand with all members of the school to ensure that we always get the highest level of output from everyone around.
Our vision is to build confidence in the teaching profession. We will work to achieve a profession whose membership will be respected by society under their professional capabilities, their work ethics, and their ability to inspire success in the next generation. We are planning to collaborate and dialogue with all parents to make and reach the best of our students. Issues of full utilization of instructional hours, pruning down of class sizes, advocacy for more funds for procurement of teaching and learning materials, advocacy for curriculum reforms, and teacher motivation are also going to be given due attention. By this, our research department will be empowered to be able to provide useful information that will help improve education all around the school.
As we do agree that Education has dominated the world’s attention for the past few years and took a chunk of the Country's resources, we believe St Peter’s deserves even more in the post-2015-16 agenda. Therefore, we will not focus on just access to Education but access to quality education. Therefore, “The Move for Quality Education” will be our Slogan during the next phase. Indeed there are challenges ahead but with the support of everyone here, the sky shall be the limit.
