New El Quds International School is available from pre-K till G12. QAS offers the American curriculum in a most professional and modern way and more than meets the standards of NCA CASI (The North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement). An integral part of the curriculum is the development of critical thinking skills.
The school was established in 2001 in an area of 7000 square meters. In 2004, New El Quds International School was officially opened. QAS first began as 4 classes on the last floor of the National School (QLS) building. During this first year, the administrations set goals for the future, based on the vision, mission, and purpose of QAS. The first goal of QAS, as any school starting, was to increase enrollment. The next year as the number of students increased, it was evident to the administration that the goals of the school needed to be both evaluated and assessed.
The primary goal put forth by the administration in the year 2005, was to have a separate building due to the growing number of students enrolled. In 2006, this goal was established QAS and QLS were located in two separate buildings. In 2009, QAS was proud to announce that one of the primary long-term goals of building a new site had been implemented. The new QAS building was constructed on 10,000 square meters to serve The American Diploma Program and The IGCSE, CIPP program.
The new QAS goal is to provide our students with the ability and confidence to meet 21st-century challenges. Since learning is our primary focus, we believe in providing students with a variety of learning experiences that enhance their opportunity to analyze and apply information to further their self-exploration and self-development. New QAS ensures its students a safe and comfortable environment that nurtures diversity to prepare them for a changing world. Our commitment to continuous improvement is essential to promote growth so students can compete academically. The QAS community aims at equipping our students with the necessary drive for high achievement and high expectations to guarantee success at college and subsequent careers. We believe that all stakeholders share the responsibility of advancing the school's vision.
Q.A.S provides students with a challenging academic program and a range of extracurricular and co. curricular activities. While following a U.S curriculum the school uses U.S textbooks and educational materials. Arabic is taught in all grades, French is taught starting from grade 3. The school's testing program includes SAT for high school students and MAP as a standardized test for all grades.
