Since 1930, we have provided our students with a challenging and supportive environment within which to discover and grow their own unique "seeds of destiny." One of our distinguishing characteristics is the fact that we are a boys' school. We know from brain research that boys learn differently from girls. We strongly believe that we can meet our students' learning needs through our innovative programs and approaches that reflect best practices in boys' learning. Embracing our Vision of being "Canada's World School for Boys," we graduate young men with a global outlook who are able and willing to meet the challenges of a complex and rapidly changing world. As well, our Core Values—empathy, humility, integrity, respect, responsibility, and resilience—are integral to every boy's experience. We know that life's most important lessons are not always learned in the classroom, so we emphasize academics and the Arts, Athletics, Leadership, Service, and Outdoor Education. Our uniquely boy-centered approach and this broadly-based, inclusive educational experience are the hallmarks of St. George's education.

As you explore our website or visit our two beautiful campuses, you will gain a fuller insight into what makes Saints so unique. You will see engaged, respectful, and happy students. You will see dedicated and talented teachers challenging and supporting their students in a curriculum that offers over 50 academic, over 50 athletic, and over 50 club electives between Grades 7 and 12. You also will be impressed by our vibrant boarding community, which includes more than 110 boys from various parts of Canada and close to 20 different countries. We are a community that inspires our students to grow in mind, heart, body, and spirit. We are a school in which boys can find and pursue their passions.

St. George's warmly welcomes prospective families and is pleased to provide them with personal tours at their convenience. Our goal is always to help you discover whether Saints is the right fit for your son. Come and see for yourself the essence of St. George's School, not only in our classrooms but also on our playing fields and in our theatre, gymnasiums, libraries, and dining halls. As you do, you will begin to understand why our graduates love Saints and go on to make remarkable contributions in a broad range of personal and professional endeavors.

Our Mission is to inspire our students to become fine young men who will shape positive futures for themselves, their families, and the global community. Through a broad and inclusive program, our students will be educated and prepared for life. They will possess a solid knowledge base in a wide range of disciplines and core academic skills combined with 21st-century global skills. During their time at Saints, they will also develop critical virtues such as empathy, humility, integrity, resilience, respect, and responsibility. They will be inspired to become good men.

Our Vision is to be recognized as Canada's World School for Boys. We aspire to be a school of international significance, one that will graduate young men with a global outlook who can meet the challenges of a complex and rapidly changing world. Through its diversity, our student body will be more representative of the larger world beyond our campus.

Since its founding in 1930, character education has always been integral to St. George's School. One of the actions arising from our new Strategic Plan was to develop and affirm a list of core values. In the fall of 2011, we did this through a collaborative process involving all stakeholder groups and securing input using surveys and small group discussions. Having adopted our list of core values, we are currently developing a comprehensive plan to infuse them through the St. George's community.

St. George's School was founded in 1930 and had, as such, accumulated a wealth of history. Many students, teachers, and headmasters have passed through the school's classrooms and halls, each with their own stories to tell. Douglas E. Harker, one of St. George's past headmasters, committed his own story regarding the school to the pages of a book, The Story of St. George's School for Boys. The following is an excerpt from the book's first chapter, of which the full text has been made available for download.
