Bogaerts International School is a vibrant, internationally-minded, family-oriented K-12 school located in The Domain of Brakes (Uccle). This area is classed as semi-urban and has a natural green area. The school is located at Brussels' doorstep, but the campus itself is a quiet and secluded wooded area. This gives you access to some of Europe's most enriching cultures while maintaining a pleasant and safe learning environment for your child. We pride ourselves in offering high-quality education to a diverse community of students, representing both local Belgian families and families worldwide.
Stemming from Bogaerts Education, founded in 1970 by Rodolphe Bogaerts, B.I.S. is the only fully accredited IB world school in Brussels, offering a continuum of three programs of education: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP). Our learning community represents over 50 nations, each in the campus halls through our curriculum and events.
Our vision is to develop students who can apply knowledge, skills, and principles to contribute to the global community. Thus, Bogaerts International School curriculum focuses on the individual learner and seeks to foster personal and academic growth through relevant and forward-thinking learning experiences. Our mission is to combine passionate, technologically innovative, student-centered approaches to teaching and learning with shared community values to foster a love of inquiry, and therefore a dedication to positive action worldwide.
Bogaerts International School holds these values above all others: Respect: recognizing the importance of all parts of a community equally and valuing ourselves, others, and our surroundings Integrity: possessing the qualities of honesty and fairness, and applying those qualities to the learning community to improve it Collaboration: engaging members of the learning community to enhance motivation and the quality of learning Family: fostering a sense of safety and trust within the learning community Innovation: instilling knowledge and skills within the learning community that prepares students for their futures in a changing and increasingly digitized world.
