Wellington Christian School is a beautiful and much-loved place of learning. Established in 1982, our school is a K-6 co-educational family, located on a picturesque campus on the outskirts of Wellington's regional town. We draw from both town and farming families and exist as a place for families to belong and grow together.
WCS is affiliated with Christian Education National (CEN), an Australia-wide network of independent Christian schools. Our school was established to provide an authentically Christian education alternative for families and continues to do so. We believe that parents or primary caregivers usually know their children best and are vital in the education partnership. We desire to be authentic, responsive, and transformational in working with students, partner with parents, and carers and play our part in the broader community.
In 2014 Dubbo Christian School, a large and well-established P-12 school, 50km west, assumed operation of Wellington Christian School. An excellent relationship has been established, with Year 6 students often beginning their high schooling at Dubbo Christian School. Daily buses run from Wellington to Dubbo.
Students at Wellington Christian School are involved in many activities across the school day and year. The opportunities available are a blessing and a privilege. Not only do they satisfy the demands of the curriculum, but they often go far beyond. Many of the activities we are involved in as a school is not just for our students. We invite parents, carers, grandparents, and others to be part of WCS school life. We believe that when home and school work together, the best outcomes result.
Choosing a school for your family is an important decision, for in so doing, you form a relationship. We believe in the adage that it takes a village and commit to doing our part to walk in partnership with our parents and carers in their children's education. We have a warm and inclusive community and culture that operates in an atmosphere of honesty and trust. Our people are certainly our greatest asset and blessing.
We are a K-6 school with a fascinating story of re-establishment and growth. Under the guidance of a deeply committed, talented, and skilled teaching team, our students are nurtured and encouraged to dig deep in their thinking and learning. Sometimes as teachers, it is our job to remind students what they are capable of and guide them towards it.
